Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House, met with Pope Benedict XVI last week in Rome. It was pathetic for Benedict to meet with Pelosi without excommunicating her due to the fact that she is pro-abortion. However, this Pope does not care and this conduct is worse than him being pro-abortion since a billion Catholics are relying on him.

Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, is a “Catholic.”  At least, she claims to be.  However, her views on abortion are simply so atrocious that she cannot be considered a Catholic.  She “rammed” through the vote on Obama’s stimulus package because she was catching a flight to Rome.  One of her stops was to visit Pope Benedict XVI.  It was illogical for the Holy Father to meet with Pelosi without excommunicating her, thrown her out of the Church.  Benedict should have done this because she is simply a manifest heretic when it comes to Catholic dogma. 

Speaker Pelosi appeared on Meet the Press last fall and discussed the abortion issue pretending to be a Church doctor on the issue of abortion.  She was trying to say that the Catholic Church has stated in the past that a fetus was not a human being from conception.  This is clearly false.  Church doctors from the 2nd century on have clearly stated that abortion at any time after conception is murder just as it would be to kill a human being that has already been born.  (Religious Tolerance).  Speaker Pelosi is either stupid or of bad will to say otherwise.  A Catholic, politician or otherwise, must protect life from conception until natural death.  Life is sacred from the time she is in the womb until she is laid in the tomb.

Pelosi met with Benedict, but did not want to talk about abortion.  The Vatican released some sort of “politically correct”, bland statement stating that Catholics must protect life.  We need actions, not words from the Pope and the Speaker.  We got neither.  The failure for Benedict XVI to excommunicate Pelosi (and Vice-President Biden, Senators Kerry and Kennedy of Massachusetts, Former Prime Minister Tony Blair) and all these pro-abort politicians show that the Catholic Church is “pro-choice” when it comes to abortion.  You can be for murder or against.  Sure, you’re a heretic, but take Holy Communion whenever you decide to come to Church. 

Much as Pelosi sickens me, the conduct of Benedict disgusts me even more.  It is his job to protect the faith and morals of over a billion Catholics here in the Church militant.  He has let us down and he should be ashamed of himself.  I was thinking, “What would St. Pius X (the Pope 100 years ago) have done?”  He would have excommunicated Pelosi on the spot.
