The things we try to teach our children versus what they see in the government and media.
In my opinion, I do not believe people should be verbally attacking others. I do not believe that Democrats should be attacking Republicans, or that Republicans should be attacking Democrats.
Each person is entitled to their own opinion, and should not be verbally bashed for it.
I do not believe that News Channels, Magazines, and other media should report false information, false accusations, or show biased opinions and partiality.
Many seem to be over stepping the laws of ‘Free Speech.’ I expect to see some near future lawsuits due to this.
I do not believe the Presidential Nominees should be speaking ill of one another or talking about one in a negative fashion – especially in the public eye.
What does that tell us, the public, when the person(s) who want to lead our Country can not even act mature?
Do we not teach our children to be nice to others and not to fight? Do we not teach them to not instigate, not speak ill of others, not start rumors and not lie, because it isn’t nice or good?
Starting rumors, lies, belittling the competition, and poking fun at the entire opposing party is not a way to get more votes. In reality, it just goes to show how immature some people can be.
Instilling good morals and values in our children can already be tough enough at times. We do not need the Government, nor the media, making it more difficult on us.
Our children see this type of behavior on a daily basis on television, in magazines, in schools, and in their communities. They see this behavior is also acceptable and not punishable.
And who will we have to thank when our hard work and good parenting skills have failed us in the long run? But, do you think they will accept the blame? No. They will place the blame on Nintendo games and rap/rock music.

Your words hit home here. I too believe this and agree. Some examples the politicians and the media as well set. Celebrities? Don’t get me started there! One to really think about here. Very well expressed and right to the point.
Nice article. I agree with some of your points. I think the media are the biggest villains in this though. Too much commercialization is the problem.
I agree. The media and bloggers on the internet have gotten to the point that they just say what they want even if it is a lie. They plaster the lie on the front page and a week later after the damage is done they print the retraction on page 10 where nobody sees it. Pointing out a character flaw on an opposing candidate I would not consider attacking someone. For example pounding Obama for his associates or the fact he hasn’t done anything positive in politics i do not consider that an attack if it is done in an intelligent way and not mean spirited like they did with Palin. Great Article.
Well, you sure hit the nail on the head. I agree with this 100%!!
thanks M for a great article
Very nice and informative article. I totally agree with what you said in it.
Thanks for your comments
I couldn’t agree more.
I get so tired of the hyperbole surrounding politics. It has nothing to do with who wears what, who bit their fingernails, and all the other foolishness that the media reports. Give me the real issues in a straightforward way. Furthermore, good points are often lost in transition when these candidates and the media resort to presenting them in an unsavory manner.
And you are right, our kids should not be subject to seeing people that are supposed to be leaders behave this way. It sends them the wrong message.
Great job, M.
I hat you for thinking this way, kidding. Hey, great read but, hmm, all issues aside, I wouldn’t mind seeing Palin for four years, she reminds me of Monica. ha ha ha, That was my impression of Bill Jefferson Clinton, alias, B. J. Clinton.
I agree with you %100. Each election time, I wish for a civil representation from both Dems and Reps and I am always disappointed. Both of the parties have similar issues so that is why I am going 3rd party this vote. Chuck Baldwin has many values I would like to see implimented in the White house.
M Stokes, I love what you say here. You run, and I might just vote for you. You sure sound like an intelligent woman. Great article my friend!
