Have women lost their way? Is so much exposure to pornography and the influence of the decadent media destroying our culture?
Women used to be thought of as just moms, sisters, grandmoms, aunts and girlfriends. They could not do any wrong. Generally, men were thought of as sneaky, cheating creatures that could not be faithful and were tempted to have sex with anything in a skirt, regardless of age. Anyone keeping up with the news nowadays is hearing about mature female school teachers having sex with little boys and moms brutally killing their young children because they are in the way of them having sexual fun.
The latest case of a Sunday school teacher allegedly raping and murdering a little eight year old girl is bringing light to the fact that women in general are just as nasty and immoral as men. The reasons can be speculated and debated, but I believe the main reasons are the extreme decline of morality caused by so much pornography on the internet, which is available to even the youngest children who have access to a computer and the decadent media that glorifies sex and unfaithfulness. Women have lost their way, but instead of recognizing the problem, many choose to argue the nonsense of equality of the sexes.

It is so heartbreaking and tragic what happened to that little girl.
This was a very sick event West but your right women were looking for equality and they found it even in the most devious places.
Viewed a production of Arsenic and Old Lace recently? Or checked into the origins of the Shakers? I’m sorry to say that neither sex has a corner on antisocial behavior. Possibly what is coming to light is that under the heading of equality, women’s deeds are no longer hidden behind husband, father or brother. For some centuries women’s behavior was considered the responsibility of male relatives. With freedom comes responsibility.
I’m saddened by this news. I hate when children have to suffer and are targeted by unscrupulous people.
That’s so tragic. I do agree with you about the role of the internet and the media. Something needs to be done about it.
“Extreme decline of morality”?? Give me a break. Don’t blame society because this woman is a piece of pedophile white trash. She’s defective human garbage. That’s about as complicated as it gets. I hope she cooks. I have better use for my tax dollars than seeing to her care and feeding, thank you very much.
I heard about that Wess the news in the worl and lack of morality just keeps getting better and better.
that was heartbreaking. our community is really not safe anymore.. i hope triond could be a good venue to educate and orient people about safety and respect.
Great write of a terriable event unfortunatly things like this do go on in the world….. What a crazy world it has become….
@Westbrook,
Sad events..As the economy goes down further these will increase more in number.
I believe that women have always been equal to men in their nastiness. Look at Lizzie Bordon and scores of others. We are only hearing so much about it now due to the media. I agree porn doesn’t help anything but I don’t think it causes a woman to become deranged.
such a sad and tragic news…
Yeah its porn and a lack of morality thats to blame even though there is no evidence to support that statement and it does not even make sense but keeping spreading the lies well done.
1.) “They [women] could not do any wrong.”
Have you heard of a Biblical character named Eve? You know, the woman who was fully responsible for the fall of man, the expulsion of humans from the Garden of Eden, and the introduction of death into the world? What about Pandora, who just couldn’t control her curiosity enough to keep all the evils in the box? In many cultures, throughout the world, since the dawn of time, women have been thought of as the sources of evil and the bringers of death into the lives of humans. The statement you make here is erroneous and, perhaps, reflects more contemporary, American perspectives on women’s morality.
Furthermore, your article implies that women, historically, have been less inclined to criminal behavior and sexual immorality than men. I would argue that this is misleading. The most famous serial killers of history are men, yes. We hear mostly about male criminals today, yes. Most sexual crimes are committed by men, yes. But there are some pretty prolific female criminals. As another contributor brought up, Lizzie Borden is a perfect example. And what about Countess Elizabeth Bathory, accused of the sexual torture and murder of a great number of young girls? Isn’t it possible that woman criminals, violent and sexual criminals both, have existed just as long as male criminals? Perhaps they were fewer in numbers (and still are), but I would argue that we have not seen any great shift toward rampant woman rapists and murderers.
2.) “… the extreme decline of morality caused by so much pornography on the internet …”
Here, you seem to be arguing that women are more inclined to crime in today’s culture because our general sense of morality is swiftly declining and because of pornography.
First of all, I think it’s safe to say that pornography is marketed chiefly to MEN. This isn’t to argue that women don’t watch it or look at it, or that there isn’t any marketed to women. But I think generally, porn consumption is the domain of men. So to argue that pornography is the cause of moral decline in women doesn’t make much sense–it would be more applicable, but perhaps just as nonsensical, to argue that it’s the cause of moral decline in men.
Secondly, you suggest that our world today is less moral than our world was in the past. Maybe it is. I can’t argue that it isn’t. But I think that we’ve had crazies, killers, rapists, and sexual predators since … forever. In various cultures, children are introduced to sex in culturally-regulated ways from young ages. In other cultures, even TODAY, the rape and brutalization of women is almost acceptable. Just read about some of this stuff. The sex trade exists today just like it has for ages. Women and children, both male and female, are sold into sexual slavery across the world, in our “advanced” age. But this has been happening for a long, long time. So has thievery and murder. And sexually-explicit images and texts have been common for ages, too. So, though I can’t say it’s not much more easily-accessible and such today, porn isn’t exactly a new concept to the human being, folks.
3.) “Women have lost their way, but instead of recognizing the problem, many choose to argue the nonsense of equality of the sexes.”
I don’t understand what you mean by “women have lost their way.” What way? Are we supposed to be moral beacons of purity and shining, impeccable sinlessness? My dear, that is a replication of an unfair gender standard. We do bad stuff. Just like men do. Expecting us to set a moral example for the rest of the world is removing pressure from men. BOTH genders have an EQUAL responsibility to be ethical, moral examples for their peers.
By saying “many choose to argue the nonsense, etc.” you imply that women are making an active choice to ignore the lamentable moral degradation of their lipstick-wearing comrades and instead debate pointless issues. I’m a woman, and I’m definitely not looking the other way. I don’t know any woman who would!
I don’t know what you mean by “nonsense of equality of the sexes,” either. Equality of the genders is still just a concept put into practice far less than people believe. We have made progress, but just examine social stigmas against the “slutty” or “prudish” woman, or the man who’s still a virgin at 20; think about violent crimes and discriminatory remarks against transvestites and transgendered people, and then argue that we’re equal. Consider that childcare advertisements are targeted to WOMEN. Consider that power tool commercials are targeted to MEN. Then argue that there are not dividing lines. Do you think that races are equal in America, too? Perhaps in theory, perhaps in law, but in PRACTICE?
What happened to this girl is terrible. It’s despicable and disgusting and it should never have happened. But we must realize that criminals such as this, from both genders, have existed for ages. Women can and have been murderesses, adultresses, thieves, et cetera, et cetera. And obviously, today, we aren’t perfect examples of morality. But we must hold both genders to the same standards and realize that both genders are capable of inhuman crimes.
I’ll climb down off of my soap box now, and I’m sorry for being so wordy. But please fully consider what you are saying here.

Wow! Marie. My article was not meant to be scientific nor speaking, even close, to the amount of evil in the world. I am a college graduate who graduated at the top of my class and could go deeply into each issue that you raised and debate it rationally and objectively, but that was not my intent. I am not uneducated; I am aware of every fact that you mentioned. The article was an emotional one at the time because a little girl was raped and murdered by a female Sunday School teacher, a very unusual incident, and was only meant to cause people to think about certain issues.
Even though women may have been just as evil as men throughout history, unless one is educated and aware of these facts, many have held the belief that women are less evil than men. There are many reasons for this. Among them are that women have generally been thought to be the “fairer” sex and have been held high upon a pedestal for years, and women are the mothers of the offspring; no one ever wanted to think of their mothers as evil and nasty, so they could not believe women could be as bad as men. Also, women have been much lower-keyed and secretive than men in their evil ways and therefore, generally undetected.
Since the ‘60’s, the so-called start of the era of equality of women, women have been gaining ground on men in exhibiting their evil nature. Today, with sex being pushed heavily in everything we do in society, women are engaging it mentally and physically at least as much as men.
What you fail to acknowledge or mention in your dissertation above is, until the last decade or two, women were taught and expected to present themselves as the gender that was pure and innocent. I don’t know how old you are, but for many of us, coming up through grade school, the motto was “girls were made of sugar and spice and everything nice” and boys were made of “puppy dog tails, snails” and such. Girls grew up believing that they should not show any desire to be evil, and therefore, boys formed a false image of girls.
When I say that women are more exposed to pornography on the internet today and it is causing them to be more evil, I stand on that statement. I am not saying men are not just as stupid on this stuff. I could go into this subject much more in depth, but that is for another time. However let me provide a couple examples where this is noticeable. Only until the last decade have many women formed the attitude that having sex with another woman is something they want to try and think to be fun and entertaining – from where do you think they are gaining this influence? The common opinion used to be that you were a homosexual if you thought this way. I am only stating an observation. I am not debating the right or wrong of homosexual behavior.
A couple years ago, a state, I believe was Georgia, wanted to outlaw sex toys for various social reasons and the women of that state went up in arms and caused the bill to be squashed. The point here is that the more pornography is glorified and pushed on the internet and through the media; women are changing any vestige of morality in favor of treating their minds and bodies as cesspools. Young people have raging hormones and many live on the web where pornography is more abundant and available than anything else.
I would suggest that you, Marie, lighten up and try to understand why someone writes something at a given time, in a certain fashion or tone and rid yourself of the idea that they are not aware of certain facts and history. I usually do not criticize anyone on the web, but in this case, I feel it is justified that I do. You try to come off as intelligent in your criticism, but actually come across as narrow-minded, up-tight, condescending and a know it all.
this news is alarming….
