Why did gas prices go from $4 a gallon to $1.50 a gallon? And why will they soon reach or exceed $4 a gallon again?
During the heated Political Campaign between McCain and Obama, there was much talk of “Drill, Baby, Drill.” McCain and millions of others, were tired of the U.S. sending our hard earned money to Countries who hate us, in exchange for oil.
These Countries were in fear of McCain winning the Presidential campaign and did not want to lose the billions upon billions of dollars that they receive from us. They decided to drop the prices in hopes of keeping our business.
However, they’ve also known all along, that if McCain did not win the election, there would be no real danger of losing of business. They knew they could later, once again, hike oil prices back up, especially knowing how Obama feels about Drilling.
This is exactly what has become. Soon, gas prices will be near or exceed $4 again.
Here in the U.S., we have laws against Price Gauging. For instance, after Hurricane Katrina, many business owners were jailed and/or fined for price gauging. That was their “punishment.”
Too bad we can’t “punish” these other Countries for price gauging.

I keep wondering when the price will go back up again.
