Tennessee allows guns in bars and state and local parks. Hey, why not allow them in banks?
Guess what folks Tennessee is now allowing handguns to be carried in to state and local parks. Oh boy, now we can keep our children safe from all those disgruntled persons who also carry handguns into state and local parks.
About two years ago, three people were killed and one seriously wounded at The Field of Dreams Park in Dandridge Tennessee. A disgruntled ex-in-law brought a gun to the park and shot and killed two people. His ex-son-in-law then tried to wrestle the gun from him and the man was fatally shot while the ex-son-in-law was seriously wounded.
And now they are letting people legally carry guns into parks. Stupid, yes! Idiotic, of course! Dumb, you got it!
Everyone has the right to bear arms which I am fine with. However, what I am not fine with is where people are now allowed to carry guns. Not only are they allowed in parks but also anywhere alcohol is served and yes including bars.
Yeehaw, drunks with guns. Disgruntled in-laws with guns around children. What else do we need? Oh, why not just let people start carrying guns into hospitals. Hey, I have got an idea, why not let people carry guns into banks. Now does that sound like fun or what? I mean all someone has to do is say “Why, I am not going to rob that bank. I am just carrying out my right to bear arms.” Yeah, just like they can also say they are not going to drink when then carry a gun into a bar. They are just going in there to show off their gun. Yeah right, and Elvis was just seen at the laundry mat doing a load of whites.
Folks, can you tell that this makes me mad? Now let me put it this way this is my opinion and my opinion only. I am in now way and no how against people possessing and carrying guns. That is no where near what I am trying to get across. I am trying to say that the legislature has just simply gone overboard with where people are allowed to carry guns.
We live in a free country where we have the rights to do a lot of things other countries do not. That is wonderful and great and awesome and I thank the men and women who bought that freedom for us. However, I do not thank the persons who made guns legal in bars and parks. That is just wrong. Our law enforcement agencies have enough to worry about without having to go to bars and stop a gun fight between two drunks who were not supposed to be drinking while carrying a gun. Let us just, God forbid, see what happens in the event an innocent child is shot at a park while the uptight angry in-laws are having an all out war. That is one thing I would never want on my conscious. I could never live with the fact that I signed a bill into law that got an innocent child shot.
So that is my story and MY OPINION, and I am sticking to it. You have the right to YOUR opinion and sticking to it also. This is supposed to be a free country also in the fact that people can express their opinions without getting in trouble. Again, my opinion only.
