Heart and Minds Way to Wins War

The answer lies not in pouring more troops into the jungle but in the hearts and minds of people. Even today, in Iraq and Afghanistan “winning the hearts and minds” of the people is an important part of the British military mission. The center of the concept of winning hearts and minds lies in making the people understand why they should stand up for their country.

“So we decided to provide the villagers with basic needs such as medical care. It worked, and we were treated like their own. Because of that bond, our job was easier. The villagers would come to us if they came across Indonesian troops” said Gen Sir Gerald Templer . He was appointed High Commissioner to Malaya Sir Henry Gurney by communist guerrillas on Oct 6, 1951.

In any war, the armed forces only have a blank map. They only know what is where when they have intelligent about the operations area. So they will use “hearts and minds strategies” to the villagers to become their spy. That is helped to reduce the duration of Confrontation as the intelligence provided by farmers from the villages was the main reason most of the infiltrations were repelled before any damage was done.

We know that the most effective ways to win in battles we need first winning the hearts and minds of the people because it is important part duty for the troops to win against any battles. If they can’t make it, it is impossible to win battle without any damage. The basics thing to do is winning and conquers people heart and minds first to be successful in any battles without any damages. But today what we can see is too many damages was happen in the battlefields and so many peoples was killed in the battles. This was happen because they took the wrong strategies and using weapons as the main strategies and never thinking about the damage that they have done.

But instead they could win the battle easily if they use main strategies “ winning the heart and minds” in the battlefield instead using the weapons and destroy and kill the innocent peoples.

Without hearts and minds this friendship would not have existed.
