One of the key points in the Israeli-Arab conflict is the Jerusalem issue. Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, yet, there is a lot of dispute even when its clearly on Israeli soil. Western media criticizes the construction of Jewish settlements. This shows how Anti-Semitic people can be.

Israel has been continuously criticized for building new settlements in East Jerusalem. This is because the people of the Palestinian territories have separate plans to establish an independent Palestinian nation and make East Jerusalem the capital of the new independent Palestinian nation. The east Jerusalem issue is one of the breaking points of the Middle East issue. Neither parties, that is Israel or the Palestinian authority have come to a consensus on this issue and is highly unlikely to come about with one in the near future.

Israel claims undivided Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and is unwilling to give up even a square inch of Jerusalem to the Palestinians. Jerusalem is the cradle of 3 different faiths, namely Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Jerusalem has the Al-Aqsa mosque which is very holy to the Muslims. Palestinians cannot tolerate Jews near their mosques or anywhere near them. I specifically use the word JEWS, not ISRAELIS.

Israeli law does not distinguish between Jewish, Muslim or Christian settlements. All of it belongs to Israel. When the world denounces the building up of Jewish settlements, it is clearly anti-Semitist. If one watches the news or reads the newspapers regarding the same, one would notice that most world leaders ask for a halt of “Jewish settlements” in east Jerusalem. Not Christian, not Muslim, but Jewish settlements.

Just because Israelis of whom Jews constitute a majority goes into East Jerusalem and rebuilds and repairs their homes and commercial establishments, they are told to halt. And this is because they were Jews. You never hear of a halt to ‘Israeli settlements’, you hear of a halt of ‘Jewish’ settlements. That is outright and clear anti-Semitism.

Palestinians claim east Jerusalem because of the Al-Aqsa mosque. They make a huge outcry because the Palestinians are anti-Semitic and cannot stand Jews in particular near their areas of faith.

It is funny that Israeli Jews are told to halt all construction in their own soil by foreign leaders just because a very important symbol of Islam is present there and a faction of people think it is a sin for Jews to be in the vicinity.

What is funnier is that world leaders actually buy what the Palestinians tell them and go on to bully Israel.

The world must know the truth about the anti-Semitist intentions of the Palestinians. Settlements must continue to be built and Israeli must be supported on this issue.
