Hugo Chavez’s Comments against the U.S. on the topic of drug trafficking
Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez accused Ambassador William Brownfield of lying about the drug trafficking between the U.S. and Venezuela . He also stated that The U.S. is only using the “Drug War” as an excuse to intervene in Latin America .
Brownfield claimed that the drug traffickers have found a “vacuum” because there is less police order in Venezuela than in any other country. Chavez reacted by stating Brownfield’s claim about drugs is a lack of respect for the truth and said they were "absolutely false."
He also said the source of the problem is the consumption of drugs by the American people. The U.S. Embassy denied a comment from the statement. Since Venezuela is located next to Colombia it would make sense that it is a major transport route for cocaine intended to be sold in the U.S. and Europe as well.
Venezuelan officials state they are fighting the drug war with increasing policies and the amount of seized drugs has been significantly increasing. Chavez threatened to kick out Brownfield due to attempts to start a confrontation at Pro-Chavez events such as him handing out donations to libraries at youth baseball games.

I fail to see what’s so rude about telling the unvarnished truth. Since when is lying considered a virtue?
