I Mourn For My Country

I recently heard the story on the origins of “The star spangled banner”. It almost moved me to tears.  Here is a link to the YouTube video.

It basically tells the story of Francis Scott Key during the battle of Ft. McHenrey. The people in the story sacrificed themselves just to make sure the flag wouldn’t fall over.

There are probably a thousand story’s like that filled with people who loved this country so much that they died to make sure we would be free. So…, how did we get to this point. Where, instead of “In God we Trust” , The ACLU sues to have the Ten Commandments taken down. Where, at one time we believed that we were endowed by our Creator but now people believe we have no creator and we came from monkeys.

The constitution says that we are guaranteed the right to the pursuit of life… Unless you are a baby not yet born. How did we get to this point? I long for the days of “I can not tell a lie” and “Give me liberty or give me death”.  Now all people seem to care about is  Paris Hilton and Emenim.

God have mercy on us. I am reminded of the old testament times when the nation of Israel turned from God and he allowed an evil king to take over. It taught the children of Israel a lesson on appreciating God (most of the time). Is that what has happened to us? Has this evil man gained power over this country so that we will once again turn to God? Now,  before you start to think it…. no, I don’t think God is punishing us, but I do know that if God removes his blessing from something, it falls apart.

I believe that the U.S.A  is the greatest country God gave man and we have seriously mistreated and under appreciated it. I only hope that it’s not too late to get take back our great nation.
