He is after all, a socialist, a terrorist, and a dictator…
Impeach Obama! This appears to be this week’s rallying cry amongst Right wing bloggers. And by the sound of it, this one may even stick around for awhile. Got a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? Firm. Emphatic. Angry. Maybe even a little bit (self) righteous. But hasn’t that schtick gotten old? Why is impeachment a word we throw around so easily? It’s not a small deal… we’re talking about throwing the man in arguably the most powerful position in the world out on his ear.
But if there’s one constant amongst bloggers, it’s that they are sensationalists. Or at least they used to be. Now? You get the feeling they really believe the garbage they’re spewing. This kind of ignorance is a bit frightening, though. So many people have absolutely no idea what the core of the issues are, beyond press sound bytes. So, for those of you too busy blogging your little middle class hearts out to actually find out what’s going on, let me break things down for you in terms that even Sarah Palin could understand.
Republicans have told us for years that you have to spend money to make money. Their philosophy has always been to give it to the upper crust, usually in the form of enormous tax breaks. Stimulus packages have been around for years; we in the lower 90% just don’t see them. They wind up in the bank accounts of corporations. Reagan’s ‘trickle down’ theory was never abandoned, it just had its label changed. Obama has done the same thing, just starting from the bottom. Stimulating the economy from the top didn’t work; true to his words, he has instituted change.
To criticize and say it isn’t working at this point is foolhardy. It’s akin to starting a business… how often do you show a profit in your first year? Is it working yet? I don’t know. And the point is, neither do you. Nor does Rush Limbaugh, Fox News, or MSNBC. Obama himself doesn’t even know. One thing is certain; in a few years, he will either go down as a genius or a fool. And we may not even know then… it may be years.
But the reality of it is, we are committed to this course of action. When George W. ran for re-election, we thought he was doomed. And while many will say he won because John Kerry ran an ineffective campaign, the fact is that we were committed. Just as we are with Obama. Babble on all you please about approval ratings, but we are in the trenches and throes an utterly bi-partisan nation. We will vote Obama in again in 2012, regardless of who the right throws into the ring with him. He will tell us he needs more time, and we will give it to him, just as we did with Bush.
So stop whining, idiot bloggers. Obama isn’t going to be impeached, any more than Bush was when he lied to us about the whole Iraq saga. Try to find something more productive to do with your time; perhaps writing about actual issues…

Good title to the article- it will get readers
This is a very powerful article. I agree with you that he will not be impeached. Clinton was impeached but he was not removed from office. So, I think we can learn from that. You are also correct that we should fine more productive ways to spend our time. Have a great day.

I enjoyed reading this article! I believe that the way they wanted to make history…I guess no one ever really thought it through!
You know, for a moment there when I read the title I thought, “gasp has Mn gone right-wing?” Very clever and interesting article. I love the line “Let me explain in terms even Sarah Palin could understand”, that had me chuckling.
Your American politics are entertaining. A month ago Obama was almost worshipped. Even when he came to Canada to spend 20 minutes with Harper, crowds gathered on Parliament Hill, some having travelled for hours, just to get a glimpse of Obama’s motorcade. Our school teachers cancelled classes and put TV sets in the lobbies to watch his inaugural address. They didn’t cancel any classes when Harper gave whatever the Canadian equivalent of an inaugural address is.
How did Obama fall so quickly? My theory is, the higher the pedestal, the faster the fall. Obama was very good at getting elected – he is charismatic, eloquent, intellectual, black (although I doubt he was raised in the projects), and most of all, he wasn’t Bush. But now comes the tough part, making it look like he is getting stuff done, fulfilling all of his election promises. But there is one ubiquitous rule in politics: your popularity will only last until you get elected. After that, everyone will hate you.

Sorry, I accidently clicked submit without finishing my last word. And I am dearly fond of having the last word. That phrase should read: Hypothetical hyperbole.
Very nice critique. Obama may be the best thing that the U.S. has seen in decades. We felt that way when we voted Carter into the Presidency. Carter, -the most ineffectual President the nation has ever seen but after Nixon and that ilk, a peanut farmer-turned-politician looked very attractive. And admit it, – his popularity increased more AFTER his term as President. Maybe the same will be for Obama. Myself, I have had the Bush family far too long and I welcome this cool breeze into the Oval Office with an open heart.
He hasn’t even had a chance to make a change. I think we need to cut him some slack. It’s going to take years to fix all the damage Bush did.
I don’t like Obama because he gave a lot of money to the same people who caused the problems were having now and 700 billion of those dollars just seam to vanished without any recourse from anyone.
The only way he will ever earn My respect. Is if he gets rid of the corrupt federal reserve bank. (The F.R.B. is not owned by the American government its a private bank) And put the control of are money back in the hands of congress were ir rightfully belongs.
Until then Obama is nothing more then a puppet being controlled by Rich Capitalists.

Sorry, I agree with Ajista. Although I don’t dislike Obama, I think he is the glory boy getting too much adulation, too soon!
He is taking money from the wrong people-not giving those of us on Social Security and Disablilty our cost of living raise-it used to be 14% a year increase at one time-then reduce to a piddly 1.8, 2.3 so on and so forth, ad naseum. I’d love to see he and all the politicians in D.C. live on only what we get! Yes, I am disabled and get $464.00 a month-I can guarantee you that the Medicare premium will still go up next year.
Whilst taking money from those who are the neediest, he then gives it to the crappers in big business, executives who get big bonuses that are absurd, and more nauseum.
However, I did enjoy your article and it was very well written.
Oh, and let this be a p.s. or a piss off………The Fox network has the right to freedom of speech, and no one has the right to try to freeze them out, or shut them down-this would be the last straw-to take away our freedom of speech! No more than health insurance being shoved down our throats and those who don’t get it will have to pay a fine……does it get better?
Before blindly singing the praises of Obama, people need to do some hard investigating about what is going on in the government. There is a lot more in the works that what people realize. If you think the economy is bad now, wait a couple of months when the treaty at Oslo is signed. It will finish disolving the U.S. along with most every major government. Wealth of industrial nations is to be diverted to nations that are not developed. The first step at dissolving the U.S. was taking in 2005 when the NAU was established in secrecy at the advisment of the CFR which the Obamas were both members of and still are. Did no one think there was something going on when he was campaigning in Berlin? Berlin is not in the United States. Yet, during his presidential campaign Obama campaigned in several foreign nations.
A couple of other things that people need to know about is the Cyber Crime Laws. This is part of a program that Obama has come up with and is ran directly from the white house. It is a law that gives Obama the right to disable internet activity to the population at anytime that he sees fit. Wonder why he would want that?
Government run health care, translation Population control. This law will allow the government to determine the value of a person and if a person does not have a high enough rating they will be terminated.
Where does it stop? What will it take for the people to see the Truth? Americans may continue to sing his praises even after Obama burns the Bill of Rights. And the First Admendment will be the first to go. In the course of researching some facts recently I stumbled across something that was shocking. It is called YOISM a religious movement that is being supported by Obama. But here is the interesting part, it has not god, Just a guy called YO. The equivalant of this would be Who ever is in Power. The slogan is “Building Heaven on Earth”.
Obama’s campaign slogan was “A change we can believe in”. But he did not say what that change would be. With out definition it is an abstract idea. So how can a person believe in a single sentence. Simple put when a group of people get together they get stupid.
Two other points Obama has is own Symbol. Everyone has seen it. Then there are these school children singing a song of praise for Obama. The last time that I saw this happen for a leader it was when Hitler came to power. WE ALL KNOW HOW THAT TURNED OUT!! Is that a road that anyone wants to go down again?
This was a well written and thought out article. It was also very true about impeachment. The House of Representatives wouldn’t follow thou in impeaching a President for doing only what his campaign suggested. Even though the American voters who voted him in are the ones deciding now that they are against the way he and his committees are choosing to achieve these actions. America needs to wait it out. Miracles don’t come out of the blue because we want them too in politics time is the only way to achieve anything.
I agreed with the title of your article, aside from that, you are truly a die hard liberal unable to accept the fact that your man Obama is inept, a pathological liar, corrupt, presiding over the biggest assault on American liberties that this nation has ever seen, and is only a figure head for the true invisible government that operates this country. Any of you that agreed with this article are either deaf, dumb, and blind, or you just can’t face the facts.
Look at what who the Czars really are, a bunch of radical, patriot thrashing pundits who are trying to shove the dismantling of our constitutional freedoms down our throats so that illegal aliens, socialists, terrorists, and welfare recipients can stand on the backs of hard working Americans who will be supporting them. Obama’s economic policies are a disaster along with the health care proposal. The numbers don’t jive! Get it? Our nation and our children’s children cannot bear the burden of this debt.
The majority is out there demonstrating against the administration as Democrats ignore and denounce Americans for exercising their rights to protest failed policy.
You need to wake up. Your liberal house is on fire.
When I see school children who have been induced to sing praises to Obama, I am reminded of Red China and the idol worship received by Chairman Mao by that particular generation of brainwashed kids while millions were persecuted for leaning with the Nationalist party who had been forced out of China and onto the island of Formosa. These kids grew up to turn on their parents and report them for disagreeing with Mao’s communistic dictatorship and were executed just as Hitler’s youths had been indoctrinated to do. History will always repeat itself when its lessons remain ignored just as your article typifies in its genuine denial of the facts!

I am a right wing type myself but I would say Obama has done nothing that warrants impeachment. Don’t get me wrong I would be happy to see him tossed out of office as I consider him the greatest threat to capitalism ever to hold public office. But he won his term and he should be allowed to serve it. Especially because he hasn’t done anything criminal or anything that even comes close to warranting impeachment. Now as for him winning again i find that unlikely but you never know.
mr. president i heard that regular flu kills 36,000 people worldwide while swine flu has only killed 5,000 worldwide so why consider this a national emergancy? i have never in my life so far have had the flu i don’t see a need in this.mr. president is it true that you or you will allow the government to force the swine flu vaccine on u.s. citzens? why do you declare it a national emergancy when it has only killed 5,000 worldwide and aids kills 2 million worldwide i don’t see h1n1 as a national emergancy. there are other sicknesses in this world that are killing people in larger numbers than what the swine flu is doing but you declare it a national emergancy?
