Why does is our judical system so corrupt?

In November of 2008 Michael Eiland decide he would do laundry for his girlfriend and year old son. He woke up his girlfriend Sara Lundberg to watch there small child while he went to the laundry mat. She woke up in a rage and began to aggressively argue with him. He then took there son to a neighbour’s house to keep him safe. He returned to his home where he found his girlfriend trying to kill herself by cutting her wrists with a 13′ kitchen knife. He told her to stop he then proceeded to attempt to take the knife from her she struggle momentarily. When Eiland told Lundberg if she wanted to kill someone kill him that’s was when Lundberg plunged the knife into his shoulder blade between his neck and armpit. Eiland ran outside screaming she got me and his neighbor whom was in care of his son came running out to see what happen dispatch was called. Lundberg came outside to see what was going on the neighbor told Lundberg,”If she had done this she better leave the cops where coming.” The police arrived on the scene where Eiland was laying the arms of the neighbor clearly bleeding to death shortly after the EMTs arrived on the scene. After the police recieved breif statements from the neighbor and the victim they then approached the home where Eiland and Lundberg resided. They then attempt to enter the residence when they found that strings were tied to several doorknobs in the home in attempt to prevent entry. They then found a scared and crying Lundberg whom tried to justify the situation and resided arrest. The ambulance took Eiland to the hospital where he was operated on for 18 hours and suffered from the puncture wound as well as a collapsed lung. Lundberg was escorted to the ER by police officers where she was to get a drug and alcohol screening as well as mental health evaluation. While Lundberg was at the ER she evaded officers by running from the ER while the police officer was getting her a drink of water. Lundberg was quickly noticed and apprehended after she struggled with police officers and ER staff by kicking, screaming, biting and spitting. ER staff then sedated Lundberg with a tranquilizer and was later taken to the county detention center where she was soon bailed out by her mother, Charlene Lundberg of the county child protective services department. Lundberg has been sentenced on August 3rd, 2009 Where she was convicted of assault and was sentenced 48 months of probation and 90 days of house arrest by ways of an ankle monitor. In my opinion she should have faced attempted murder charges she has yet to get on ankle monitoring and has gone to court for this violation but the judge is not only letting her off with a slap on the wrist but is also not reprimanding her for having yet to follow through with her house arrest order. The judge also stated in a hearing on September 24, 2009 that Eiland must pay part of the hospital bill because she’s a single mom and she deserves a break from fines and court costs. Lundberg got away with attempted murder and received custody of there now 22 month old son and this is her second domestic violence charge. When will the political pull of county officials such as Miss Lundberg’s mother stop having an affect on judicial proceedings and sentencing. I believe this story needs to be told and justice needs to be served.
