Netanyahu takes the UN to task for giving Mahmoud Ahmadinejad the opportunity to speak in front of them, and essentially, the entire world.
The Associated Press called Iran’s uranium enrichment plant a “nuke plant” yesterday although there has been no evidence that Iran is in the midst of creating nuclear weapons, and there is no evidence that they will be able to do so in the very near future. People seem to think that FOX News and MSNBC are the only stations capable of stoking fears and playing on people’s emotions. While I think it’s pretty clear that the Iranian government is extremely corrupt and Ahmadinejad is clearly insane, one must ask oneself why he would have such a bone to pick with Israel.

After WWII, when many Jews were looking for a haven against persecution and because the prophecy said that Jewish people would return to Jerusalem, Jewish people from the United States and European countries returned to Jerusalem–or what by then had become Palestine. The ensuing expulsion of many Palestinians from their homes in 1948 caused many to become refugees–and many of these people and their progeny remain refugees today.
As recently as the latter part of 2008, the Gaza war cost Palestinians somewhere between 1,166 and 1,417 lives. The war cost Israel 13 lives. A distinction must be made between defense and slaughter… Not to mention Israel’s use of white phosphorous during the war that apparently wasn’t admitted to until after the war had ended. Many industrialized nations (including the United States) use white phosphorous against their enemies. White phosphorous not only explodes and causes severe burns, but the burning doesn’t stop when the the white cloud is gone–it eats into a person’s skin for a long period of time.
Israeli soldiers are not blameless in the conflict. Factions like Hamas and Hezbollah (in Lebanon) attempt to target Israeli citizens but are hardly successful. Their weapons are far cruder and much more dangerous to operate than those of the Israeli government–and their targeting capabilities are nil. In response to rocket attacks, Israel launches full scale attacks that kill dozens of people at a time. Israeli soldiers have targeted the Red Cross more than once in response to its reports of supposed Israeli war crimes.
Aljazeera, the prominent news agency in the Middle East, was attacked on the air by Israeli soldiers who were throwing tear gas at non-violent protesters just earlier this month (as demonstrated by the above video). This particular incident was rather benign, but the Israeli Defense Force has been called out on killing British and American civilians who were attempting to protest or report on the goings on on the Israel-Gaza border. It’s political favoritism like this that makes it a little too easy for insane political leaders like Ahmadinejad to get people riled up over the injustices of the Western world–including blaming the West for things we simply did not do.

A daring article … don’t know if I had the guts to do it
Nice article to be think about
I think this depends on the individual. Constructive criticize is acceptable anyway. Thanks for sharing and clicked you “liked it”
Brave article. I think It was a mistake to recreate State Israel on expense of Palestinians in 1948. The whole problem is there. The United Nations felt they owe it to them because of their casualties in WWII and 2000 years of wandering around the world. Who asked Palestinians for anything? They were considered primitive and residual. And what about bomb attack on British soldiers and administrators in hotel “King David” in Jerusalem (1946) by commandos from group “Sons of David Star”? That was fight of brave patriot soldiers for their future country. Looks a lot similar as Palestinian bomb fight for their country these days. Don’t get me wrong, I am not justifying anybody. I am just observing from neutral perspective.
Yes, you can criticize Israel without being anti-Semitic. I’m not saying that the author of this article is anti-Semitic. But this article is wrong.
I think James Tiger got his facts wrong. He claims that it was “a mistake to recreate State Israel on expense of Palestinians in 1948″. First off, Israel was not created at the expense of the Palestinians. Israel was created o land given to the Jews in the 1947 UN partition plan. The UN voted on that plan when Jews were already the majority on the land that was designated by the UN for the Jewish state. In fact, there is evidence that the Jewish settlers who cam actually rebuilt the land. For it was a neglected wasteland before Jewish settlers came to rebuild their country on their historic homeland. In fact, Arabs from surrounding areas actually came to “Palestine” because of what the economic activities that the Jewish settlers were doing. James makes is that “The United Nations felt they owe it to them because of their casualties in WWII and 2000 years of wandering around the world. Who asked Palestinians for anything? They were considered primitive and residual”. Actually, the UN did not view the “Palestinians” that way. The UN understood that it was a historic homeland for the Jews and the horror of the Holocaust. The Arab leadership is not innocent when it comes to the Holocaust. Have you people heard of guys like Amin al-Husseini? And the uN designated an area of the land for an Arab state. The Arab leadership, rather than declare their state, chose to fight to prevent the creation of and to eliminate the Jewish state. James concludes his point with “And what about bomb attack on British soldiers and administrators in hotel “King David” in Jerusalem (1946) by commandos from group “Sons of David Star”? That was fight of brave patriot soldiers for their future country. Looks a lot similar as Palestinian bomb fight for their country these days. Don’t get me wrong, I am not justifying anybody. I am just observing from neutral perspective”. As for the bombing of the King David hotel, the “terrorists” who carried it out actual sent warnings. For the King David hotel was used as a base for British soldiers. It wasn’t a terrorist operation. Unlike the “terrorists” [Irgun] who carried out the bombing of the King David hotel, Palestinian terrorists intentionally kill innocent civilians and seek to have the destruction of Israel. What country did the Irgun seek to destroy? I’ll tell you. None. Palestinians had plenty of opportunities to have their own state. All those times, it was torpedoed by the rejectionist Arab leadership. In fact, I even showed the flaws of the argument that Palestinian terrorists are like the Irgun because, according to the flawed argument, the two just fight for their country using terror tactics. And then James ends his comment saying that he doesn’t justify anybody; but just looks at the situation from a neutral perspective. James, you don’t look at it from a neutral perspective. You believe the anti-Israel propaganda. How can you be neutral and claim that Israel shouldn’t have been created? Israel’s creation was just and fair. It was created in a legal way and had the backing of the international community.
Just because Jerusalem was not a developed area when the Jewish settlers arrived does not mean it was a wasteland. So let’s say you’re right. Let’s say the land was in terrible disarray until the settlers got there. So what? The point is that there were already people living there and the international community did not and does not care about their welfare. By the way, just because something is made “legal” does not mean it is inherently correct. As you know, it used to be perfectly legal to discriminate against Jews and other minorities, but I know I’m thankful it is no longer legal to do so.
First off, if you’re claim that the international community did not care about the welfare of the people living in “Palestine” before the Jewish settlers came is not true. The Balfour declaration stated that nothing shall be done to infringe the rights of the Gentiles [non-Jews] who live there. And the Zionists actually tried to promote cooperation, peace and good neighborliness with the Arab inhabitants. In fact, the Israeli Declaration of Independence and the Basic laws even state clearly that the Arabs and other non-Jewish inhabitants have equal rights. In fact, the Arab population in Israel grew. More Arabs came to the land after Jewish settlers developed it [that is perfectly fine]. Those Arabs became counted as among the “original inhabitants”. And the UN partition plan designated a state for the Arabs as well as for the Jews. Israel was founded based on the land given to the Jews. In fact, Jews were already the majority on land given to the Jews in the UN partition plan. Does that sound like not caring for the “original inhabitants”? On the contrary, the international community and the Zionist movement went out of their way to make sure that the rights of the original inhabitants were not being trampled on. The quality of life for Arabs actually got better thanks to the activity of the Jewish settlers. And the quality of life for Palestinians improved during Israel’s “occupation”. Israel’s “occupation” actually saved Arab lives by improving their access to medical care and because of Israeli policies of fighting diseases. The creation of Israel was done in a legal way. Basically all the well-known Middle East countries were created in the 20th century as well. Some of the Arab countries like Kuwait was created a few decades AFTER Israel was created. If you want to challenge the legitimacy of Israel’s creation, how about we see how the Arabs got most of the Middle East? I’ll tell you how. It was by conquest.
“Israeli soldiers are not blameless in the conflict. Factions like Hamas and Hezbollah (in Lebanon) attempt to target Israeli citizens but are hardly successful. Their weapons are far cruder and much more dangerous to operate than those of the Israeli government–and their targeting capabilities are nil. In response to rocket attacks, Israel launches full scale attacks that kill dozens of people at a time.”
My Response:Well, the rocket attacks launched by Hezbollah and by Palestinian rejectionist groups including Hamas are enough to terrorize Israeli cities. Look at what’s happening in places like Sderot. People in Israeli cities near Gaza have to constantly worry about when the next rocket attack will come and hide in bomb shelters. Sderot is the most extreme example. This “small scale attack” scenario from the anti-Israel propaganda that’s included in this article is rubbish. Israel goes out of her way not to target civilians. In fact, one of the jobs of the Israeli military police is to investigate these allegations of Israeli soldiers intentionally killing innocent civilians. IDF soldiers who are caught intentionally killing innocent civilians are arrested. What’s left out in this article is that during Operation Cast Lead, Israel sent telephone calls to Palestinian inhabitants to leave because Israel would bomb that area.
“The Associated Press called Iran’s uranium enrichment plant a ‘nuke plant’ yesterday although there has been no evidence that Iran is in the midst of creating nuclear weapons, and there is no evidence that they will be able to do so in the very near future. People seem to think that FOX News and MSNBC are the only stations capable of stoking fears and playing on people’s emotions. While I think it’s pretty clear that the Iranian government is extremely corrupt and Ahmadinejad is clearly insane, one must ask oneself why he would have such a bone to pick with Israel.”
My response: Actually, there is plenty of proof that Iran is building nuclear weapons. Iran kept its nuclear program secret until it was exposed by opponents of the Iranian regime. And after it was exposed, Iran’s regime kept lying about it and did not fully cooperate with the IAEA. This article legitimizes Ahmadinejad’s genocidal position toward Israel. In fact, his analysis of Israel has no fact. I exposed how at least much of the accusations he made against Israel during the speech against Racism at the UN was true about him and the regime that he’s part of in Iran. Ahmadinejad’s analysis on Israel has no basis in fact and is the classic Pallywood version, which is repeated in this propaganda [not anti-Semitic] article.
“After WWII, when many Jews were looking for a haven against persecution and because the prophecy said that Jewish people would return to Jerusalem, Jewish people from the United States and European countries returned to Jerusalem–or what by then had become Palestine. The ensuing expulsion of many Palestinians from their homes in 1948 caused many to become refugees–and many of these people and their progeny remain refugees today.”
My response:The Arab refugee problem is caused primarily by the rejectionist Arab leaderships and their determination to not allow a Jewish state to exist in any part of its historic homeland. The Arab refugee problem was a result of the conflict between Jewish and Arab militias [there is no moral equivalence when you look at the goals and even, usually, at the tactics] and more so by the 1948 war. It was caused by fighting that Israel did not want. Some fled to stay away at the conflict. In some cases, Arab leaders encouraged the refugees to flee. In some cases, Jewish leaders actually unsuccessfully convinced many of the refugees to stay. True, in some cases, Israeli troops did expel some of the refugees. That was in areas that were vital for Israel’s survival and for in strategic areas, like in Arab towns that surrounded areas where Jews were attacked or in areas used as bases for Arab terrorists who attacked Jewish convoys. But the fact of the matter is that Arab leaders, Arab refugees and many reports in the Arab media blamed the Arab states for the refugee problem. And Israel repeatedly sought a solution to the refugee problem. But Arab leaders decided to keep the refugees in dirty refugee camps and to use them as a card against Israel. It was used to get more terrorists among the refugees by exploiting their suffering to get more hatred of Israel and to hold a morally emotional leverage against Israel. In fact, Arab leaders treated the refugees poorly and decided to keep them in refugee camps until they’re “victorious” against the Jewish state. And now, Arab leaders are using the refugee problem in order to destroy Israel demographically by having the “right of return”. If you think that Ahmadinejad cares about the Arab refugees, you are seriously deluded. Iran treats their own Arab minority poorly. Many Iranian Arab activists have stated that how Iran treats their Arab population is worse off than how Israel treats the Palestinians. They’re right. Israel doesn’t want to rule over the Palestinians in the disputed territories and gave its own Arab minority equal rights. The concept of transfer was never part of Zionist ideology. Zionist leaders were reluctant to carry it out. It was just a last resort in order to defend Israel and to be able to protect Jews who were besieged by Arabs, as well as the Convoys going to aid the Jews in Jerusalem. Israel doesn’t want to ethnically cleanse Arabs in Israel or Palestinians in the disputed territories. And Israel didn’t want to ethnically cleanse the land of Arabs either. The Israeli Central Elections Committee even banned the Kach party for its racist position toward the Arabs from running in the Knesset and censures ads that are racist toward Arabs in Israel. For Israeli law forbids racist parties form being in the Knesset. And there are Arab parties that have seats in the Knesset. Israeli Arabs are basically the freest Arabs in the Middle East. Ahmadinejad’s grievance against Israel is, not only because it’s a non-Muslim nation, but also because it’s a non-Muslim nation in the region. He, like other radical Muslims [not all Muslims], sees Israel as an outpost of Dar Al-Harb right in the land of Dar Al-Islam. His hatred of Israel has nothing to do with how Israel treats the Palestinians. If it is, then why doesn’t Ahmadinejad try to make life better for the Arab minority in Iran?
How dare you claim that I am legitimizing Ahmadinejad’s position on Israel. You should be ashamed of yourself for making such a ridiculous claim. Also, I never said anything about the “original inhabitants” of Jerusalem.
I just hope you’re not claiming that the lives of the dispossessed are somehow insignificant because Jewish settlers wanted a country all their own? It’s important to look as this situation from both sides, and your ranting and finger-pointing is the reason behind the title of this article. Nothing in my article is false and I believe I have every right to express my opinion just as you have every right to comment obsessively.
The reason for the title of this article is because I believe people have a right to debate without getting overly emotional and defensive. Nothing in my article is supporting Ahmadinejad. I just think diplomacy, as opposed to warfare, is the way to go. This will be my last response. I’m sorry, but I can’t legitimize your nonsensical finger-pointing.
Well my dear Benyamin, with your comments you answered NO on question in topic of this article. That is your opinion. All your comment answers to my comment was based on so called legality, justice and fairness of UN decisions. But what about morality? Is UN infallible? History teach us that UN made a lot of mistakes. What about refugees and situation today? Do you really expect everyone to believe that radical Arabs is to blame for everything that happened? And that radical Jews are completely innocent? I never said that I am against of Israel creation. I just wanted to say that it wasn’t created in very “happy” way. And I don’t believe to any propaganda. I am critical to any radical politic no matter of what nation, religion or raise.
You might not believe me but I am hanging out with a lot of people of different raises and religion. There are Jews and Muslims among them. Please remember: I am not generalizing any nation, I am criticizing radical political decisions that have terrible consequences!
I was criticizing Jews in my comments because of this article theme. That don’t mean that I hate and generalizing them.
Maybe next time I ll be criticizing radical Muslims.
Look Ursula, I think a two-state solution is great in principle. At the same time, a Palestinian state threatens the security of Israel. And the ones who control the political scene are not the Palestinians who want peace, but the ones who seek Israel’s destruction. It’s so funny how you wine about finger pointing and yet you’re guilty of it. You blame Israel and have nothing to say about Palestinian rejectionists. I say you legitimize Ahmadinejad’s position on Israel because you make the following claim:
“While I think it’s pretty clear that the Iranian government is extremely corrupt and Ahmadinejad is clearly insane, one must ask oneself why he would have such a bone to pick with Israel.
Is that not legitimizing Ahmadinejad’s stance toward Israel? What that basically means is that Ahmadinejad hates Israel for the supposed “wrong” that Israel did to the Arabs in 1948, even while Iran treats their own Arab citizens poorly. It is clear to anyone who seriously studies it that it’s caused by totalitarian forces in the Arab and Muslim world that want to see Israel destroyed for being a non-Muslim and a non-Arab state. No that struggle to destroy Israel is led by Islamo-Fascism. You have nothing to say about the fact that Arab armies invaded Israel one day after it declared its independence. Your silent on the constant terror attacks on Israel and the terrorists’ slogan to “liberate Palestine from the river to the sea” i.e. to destroy Israel. It’s clear that your doing the finger pointing. I admit that I’m biased in favor of Israel. This article is not neutral one bit. I’m happy to have a discussion with you about Israel. This article leaves out so much important facts and context. You claim that “Nothing in my article is false”. Yet you claim that Iran isn’t developing nuclear weapons, when the evidence says otherwise. You whole article is essentially Blame Israel. I just love how anti-Israel propagandists like yourself make ridiculous errors and then when someone criticizes you for it, you then act like you’re some courageous person who stands up for the truth. You claim that nothing in your article is false, yet I refuted at least some of your falsehoods in the comments section. You claim that the rocket attacks are not successful. Yet they successfully terrorize Israeli cities. Just ask the residents of Sderot. You whole thesis in this article is very far away from fact. You claim that my finger-pointing and rants caused you to make this article. Yet I didn’t call you anti-Semitic. Despite that, you act like some courageous guy who is just standing for the truth. To you, and perhaps many of the other commenters, any criticism of you is the same as calling you an anti-Semite. So basically, any criticism of the ridiculous errors in this article is just finger-pointing and ranting, while your some courageous truth teller who should stand up above criticism. Now you made that your last response in order to not “legitimize” my “nonsensical finger-pointing”. This is essentially saying that you can’t take criticism for your article. You claim:
“I just hope you’re not claiming that the lives of the dispossessed are somehow insignificant because Jewish settlers wanted a country all their own?”
Your hope is true. I’m not claiming that the lives of those dispossessed are insignificant. Israel didn’t even cause the refugee problem. Had the Arab leadership and Arab states accepted the partition plan and chose to peaceful coexist with the Jewish state, there would be no Arab refugee problem. As I said, many Jewish leaders even unsuccessfully attempted to convince some of the Arab refugees to stay. The problem is caused by the Arab states. It is they who are treating the refugees poorly. There were also Jews who fled from the Arab states and were expelled by the Arab leaders. Israel took them in and integrated them into her society. Why can’t the Arab states, with more land and far more wealth, do the same? Arab states decided to preserve the problem so then they can hold emotional leverage against Israel. It’s used to dupe people like you. Israel repeatedly sought to achieve a solution to the refugee problem. The creation of Israel did not displace anybody. Jewish settlers just wanted to establish a Jewish state on their historic homeland. They had every right to reestablish Israel. At the same time, the Jewish settlers sought to promote peaceful co-existence with the Arab inhabitants and even improved the quality of life for Arabs there. More Arabs came to the land because Jewish settlers were “making the desert bloom”, as the saying goes. As you can see from scholars like Ephraim Karsh, Zionist leaders tiresly sought to promote peaceful co-existence with the Arabs.
You claim that you made no mention of the “original inhabitants”. You didn’t use those words, but still mentioned them. You said in your first response to me:
“The point is that there were already people living there and the international community did not and does not care about their welfare.”
Never mind how false that comment is, as I already showed. There is already plenty of reports in the Arab media that blame the Arab states for the refugee problem. Plenty of Arab leaders and plenty of Arab refugees also blame the Arab states for the problem. You claim that it’s important to look at the situation from both sides. Hey, why not clean up your house first? You didn’t say the Israeli side of the story in this article. Instead, you essentially parroted out anti-Israel propaganda, where Israel is the bad guy. You claim:
“The reason for the title of this article is because I believe people have a right to debate without getting overly emotional and defensive. Nothing in my article is supporting Ahmadinejad. I just think diplomacy, as opposed to warfare, is the way to go.”
Yet, are you not getting emotional and defensive, with your claim that I should be ashamed of myself? I never said that you do support Ahmadinejad. I concede that you don’t support Ahmadinejad or the rest of the terror regime in Tehran. You certainly whitewash him and the rest of the regime. But you do legitimize his position on Israel, if you were to take a look at the language of the end of the first paragraph [excluding the summary part] and at all of the second paragraph, the latter of which blames only Israel for the refugee problem. Yet I should be ashamed of myself for pointing out these basic facts, just like how I’m ranting and finger-pointing for not being like the other commenters by actually criticizing the errors in this article. Hmm, sounds like you get defensive and emotional to me. When it comes to diplomacy, I generally support it, if there is a partner who wants peace. Diplomacy is great when it comes to a fight in school. But when someone wants to destroy you, you have to defend yourself. Peace is a great idea. What is stupid is for Israel to give the rejectionist terrorists a terror base and o put Israel’s cities within range of the terrorists’ fire in the name of peace. Iran is building nuclear weapons to destroy the free world including Israel. It’s stupid to bolster and legitimize the Iranian regime in the name of peace while isolating the Iranian people who want democracy. It’s stupid to that with any other dictator who hates America, Israel and the rest of the free world.
You can’t take criticism. You just expect praise for “courageously” saying the “truth” i.e. to give Israel the blame while anyone who criticizes you is essentially saying that your anti-Semitic for criticizing Israel and just engages in “nonsensical finger-pointing”. It’s you who engages in “nonsensical finger-pointing” at Israel. I’ve seen how facts are just distorted in this article and in the comments. Here, facts on the Arab-Israeli conflict are distorted like crazy. The environment here is just so far from the truth. I agree that you have the right to voice your opinion. You don’t have to agree with me. At the same time, I have the right to criticize your faulty analysis. I have the right to criticize this article. Though your no anti-Semite, it’s still ant-Semitic to deny the Jews a right to a homeland. This article is not anti-Semitic. It’s just wrong and is based on faulty analysis.

What that basically means is that Ahmadinejad hates Israel for the supposed “wrong” that Israel did to the Arabs in 1948, even while Iran treats their own Arab citizens poorly. It is clear to anyone who seriously studies it that it\\\’s caused by totalitarian forces in the Arab and Muslim world that want to see Israel destroyed for being a non-Muslim and a non-Arab state. No that struggle to destroy Israel is led by Islamo-Fascism. You have nothing to say about the fact that Arab armies invaded Israel one day after it declared its independence. Your silent on the constant terror attacks on Israel and the terrorists’ slogan to \”liberate Palestine from the river to the sea\” i.e. to destroy Israel. It’s clear that your doing the finger pointing. I admit that I\’m biased in favor of Israel. I just love how anti-Israel propagandists like yourself make ridiculous errors and then when someone criticizes you for it, you then act like you\\\’re some courageous person who stands up for the truth. This is essentially saying that you can\’t take criticism for your article.
Why can\’t the Arab states, with more land and far more wealth, do the same? Arab states decided to preserve the problem so then they can hold emotional leverage against Israel. It\’s used to dupe people like you.
You claim that you made no mention of the \”original inhabitants\”.
You claim that it\’s important to look at the situation from both sides.
Yet I should be ashamed of myself for pointing out these basic facts, just like how I\\\’m ranting and finger-pointing for not being like the other commenters by actually criticizing the errors in this article. What is stupid is for Israel to give the rejectionist terrorists a terror base and o put Israel\\\’s cities within range of the terrorists’ fire in the name of peace. Iran is building nuclear weapons to destroy the free world including Israel. It\’s stupid to bolster and legitimize the Iranian regime in the name of peace while isolating the Iranian people who want democracy.
You don\’t have to agree with me. At the same time, I have the right to criticize your faulty analysis. I have the right to criticize this article. Though your no anti-Semite, it’s still anti-Semitic to deny the Jews a right to a homeland. This article is not anti-Semitic. It’s just wrong and is based on faulty analysis.
Look Ursula, I think a two-state solution is great in principle. At the same time, a Palestinian state threatens the security of Israel. And the ones who control the political scene are not the Palestinians who want peace, but the ones who seek Israel’s destruction. It\\\’s so funny how you wine about finger pointing and yet you\\\’re guilty of it.

Sorry for the more than one comments. But it kept on saying internal error. It didn’t seem to be posting the comments.
When I said,”No that struggle to destroy Israel is led by Islamo-Fascism”, I meant that “Now that struggle to destroy Israel is led by Islamo-Fascism.”
