As above.
Israel is currently contesting a small village near the Golan Heights. The village is called Rajar and it lies on the border or Syria and Lebanon. This is yet another problem facing the Israeli government. Things are heating up in the Middle East, and it appears that Israel may be running out of friends faster than it is making them.
This whole area is strategically valuable and volatile. It had always been an ill-defined border and now both Lebanon and Syria are taking measures to secure it. This will almost certainly lead to conflict in the already war torn region.
It is difficult to say at this time which country will push harder, Lebanon or Syria. Either way, Israel is in for a two front war. Looking to the U.S. for support will do nothing for Israel. Israel is distancing itself from the U.S., and the U.S. is all out of good will for the country.
Israel has repeatedly ignored requests by the U.S. to end the violence against Palestinians. The Israeli government is digging a hole as far as relations and soon, they will be deep enough that they will not be able to see out of it. The days of the U.S. coming in and supplying arms and munitions are over.
Another point to consider is the fact that Syria and Lebanon are eyeing real estate in Iraq. You might ask, how did this happen? George Bush and his band of idiots destabilized the entire Middle East. Now, our troops are tied up in two countries, and we are very vulnerable at this time militarily and the Middle East knows it.
The next move in the area is yet to be determined. Israel might even be overrun if the make enough enemies without the backing of the U.S. government. The whole idea of the country of Israel was a bad idea from the start. This is what happens when governments carve out new boundaries and establish someone else’s borders. Reference the Serbian conflicts.
