All that the US President offered to Arabs is kalam fadi (empty words).
My fellow Americans,
Your president, of whom you are so proud, came to visit us and offered us a new beginning. Not a new beginning for you – you will continue to do your dirty business as usual, but a new beginning for us. From this day on we will have to love you, Americans. That does not need to bother you because it does not require you to change anything – not one detainee will be released from Guantanamo, not one Arab will be set free and allowed to go to his (or her) home.
The burden will lie solely on our shoulders. We will have to prove to you and your allies, in word and in deed, that whatever you do to us we will continue to love you. You may send troops to kill our brothers in Afghanistan and we will adore you, you may publish cartoons mocking our prophets and we will admire you, you will deny entry to our brothers who fled Iraq because you did not trust our ruler and we will be grateful to you for your assisting us in rebuilding our country, you will appoint a puppet as our president and we will cheer you and bless God for letting him rule us, you will support the dictators and kings who suck our blood and be rewarded by our eternal devotion to you. Bless you, Mr. President.

This is very sad. The world is in such a mess because of bad leaders who do not care about what the “people” want. How can the little people change this thing that has exploded out of control? Citizens of this country are also “victims” of decisions made by leaders who are only out to gain for themselves.
I resent that I must live in a wonderful country that has been ruined by corruption in our government. Our government has become a world bully, and the little people are very well aware of this. I understand your words, and I wish that we could all find PEACE and JUSTICE together.

Our present President inherited a mess that had been in the making for over 20 years. I don’t condone his handling and sure don’t agree with it all either. Your post is thought provoking and right on! Well composed and has some hope mingled in it too. I too, HOPE.
