Who I consider a great leader.

What does leadership mean to me? Leadership is a characteristic you develop if you are a hard working person that is capable of handling groups of people. Most leaders have goals in life. When you are a child it is to attain good grades and social recognition. As an adult to have the career you have always wanted along with a good reputation. Without leaders, what would the world be?
First of all, there are many types of leaders in this world. In my opinion, a leader is a person that is able to take control over a situation where many people are involved. Not only to guide the group, but to resolve problems, and get the people to work together to achieve a goal. Whenever I am in a group that has conflicting thoughts, I make sure to take control and try to resolve the conflict by finding a happy medium which makes the process of achieving the goal much more efficient.

Secondly, not only do leaders help in projects, but also in team situations. While being in a team with other people, you have to have a person keep a positive attitude throughout the game encouraging teammates to do their best. A team would not be a team without a person to lead it. This is why there are coaches and mentors to teach the players how to play the game to their full potential without losing confidence. I know that when I am playing a team sport, even though I am not the coach, I try my best to keep up everyone’s confidence even if they made a mistake.

All in all, leadership to me is being able to successfully control a group of people with an optimistic attitude along with accomplishment. I have experienced the responsibility of being a leader many times when it comes to doing group work or even playing sports. I enjoy being able to keep matters under control because it boosts my own confidence for the future years to come.
