Is legalization a good remedy for the economy?

I love drugs. Drugs are great. I couldn’t get outof bed in the morning without my morphine and hydro-codone. These are legal drugs that the economy well, I wouldn’t say relies onbut, uses to support it’s own habits. I also indulge in the occasional joint (since the age of four)or, line of coke or, mescaline, shrooms or, hit of acid. Now, the illegal drugs are being considered for legalization to boost the economy. Marijuana, cocaine, even heroin are being considered for legalization. Would this really help us out with the tremendous debt that we have incurred and the failing bank bail-out and, at what price. With all issues there are pros and cons but, do the pros outweigh the cons in this instance. Since I was young there were always children around me smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol. Even though age restrictions were in place kids, have always been able to access and obtain them. What if drugs were sold at the corner market? Would we have 11 year-olds starting heroin? Of course, I’m sure there are these children out there now but, what if the availability was opened up to the general public? However, how has the problem increased or decreased in countries like the U.K.? Yes, I believe the money would come poring in. The one statement I have always loved is: If we allowed farmers to grow hemp on the land they are being paid not to grow on…we could pull away from the middle-east oil supply. And, it has been said: “We comprise 5% the world population and consume over 60% of the worlds illegal drugs.” Maybe it’s a good economic idea; But, what would America look like in 20 years? I would like to here your opinionspro or con. legalization

Gee; This one made me stop and think. I don’t really know how I would answer this question. I am not a supporter of drugs, but when you look at all the prescription drugs on the market, and alcohol. What would be the big deal in selling so called illegal drugs? A drug is a drug. Our prescription drugs are no safer than illegal drugs. Just watch all the commercials on television. They advertise to ask your doctor to put you on a drug, then they go through the list of side effects, and they are not hesitant to include the words, “can cause death.” So I say, What’s the differences?
