With time running out, McCain, in a last ditch effort tries to tie Obama to corrupt lobbyist and fundraiser Tony Rezko when it’s clear that Obama had no relationship with Rezko. These are desperate tactics.

Looking at an article entitled “McCain Seeks to Revive Rezko as Campaign Issue” published on Yahoo!, it’s clear that McCain is desperate. The fact that McCain is now using automated messages to attack Obama only reinforces this issue.

According to an automated phone call made by the McCain camp, “Obama needs to come clean on this deal before the election so that voters can judge whether Obama received monetary benefits”.

According to former Sen. Peter Fitzgerald, “He’s running for the highest office in the land and he simply refuses to answer questions”. This could easily also refer to GOP vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin who has given a grand total of 2 interviews since being unveiled before the GOP convention. Also, this was a conference call arranged by the McCain campaign. This brings Fitzgerald’s credibility into question because if Fitzgerald is 100% honest, why didn’t he say this directly to voters?

According to a brochure mailed by Illinois state Republicans, one question asked “Who is Barack Obama?” and this question is answered “Kickbacks, land deals and fraud”, the classic definition of a smear campaign by the McCain camp who have clearly run out of gas and ideas.
