Most Arabs in east Jerusalem want to remain under Israeli rule.

Despite all this propaganda of the “brutal” Israeli “occupation”, most Arabs in east Jerusalem want to remain under Israeli rule. What happened around the time when then-Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert offered to give up parts of east Jerusalem to the Arab Muslim Supremacist Palestinian Authority? How did the Arab residents of east Jerusalem react? They weren’t happy to know that they may end up being part of the Muslim Arab Supremacist PA. In fact, that’s what the Mail and Globe reported. Nabil Gheit, the mayor of an Arab neighborhood of east Jerusalem known as Ras Hamis, made it clear that he and his constituents did not want to be handed off to the Mahmoud Abbas regime. “If there was a referendum here, no one would vote to join the Palestinian Authority. We will not accept it. There would be another intifada [uprising] to defend ourselves from the PA, “he said. The Mail and Globe article reported,”But the mayor of Ras Hamis, a Palestinian neighbourhood on the eastern fringe of this divided city, says that he can’t think of a worse fate for him and his constituents than being handed over to the weak and ineffective Palestinian Authority right now”. The article also reported:

Those who live in the neighbourhoods Mr. Olmert spoke of handing over are nonetheless worried that Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas, who is seen as weak and desperate for an achievement after losing control of the Gaza Strip to the Islamist Hamas movement, will accept the offer. They dislike the idea of their neighbourhoods, which are generally more prosperous than other parts of the West Bank, being absorbed into the chaotic Palestinian territories.

Mr. Gheit, with two posters of “the martyr Saddam Hussein” hanging over his cash register, can hardly be called an admirer of the Jewish state. But he says that an already difficult life would get worse if those living in Ras Hamis and the adjoining Shuafat refugee camp were suddenly no longer able to work in Israel, or use its publicly funded health system.

The 53-year-old said he’d be happy to one day live in a properly independent Palestinian state, but not one that looks anything like the corruption-racked and violence-prone areas that are split between the warring Hamas and Fatah factions. “I don’t believe in these factions. I only believe in putting bread on the table for my children. I fight only for them. At least in Israel, there’s law.”

To get back a [or nearly a] decade ago, around the time of Camp David talks, Zohair Hamdan, the critic of then-PA President Yasser Arafat and a proponent of peace with Israel, wanted to remain under Israeli rule and got 10,000 signatures on a petition against handing over east Jerusalem to the PA.

Jerusalem is the united capital of Israel and should remain as such. Despite the fact that prominent Arab east Jerusalemites made it clear that they don’t want to be under the PA’s mercy, the Israeli left is an advocate of giving the PA at least parts of east Jerusalem; even as the PA uses the territory it gets as a terror base and promotes and supports rejectionist terrorists. Arabs in east Jerusalem see what’s going on in the PA. They understand that they are much better off under Israel. They understand that the PA is not democratic; but authoritarian. They don’t want to be under the authoritarian PA regime. They watch what’s going on and understands how oppressive the PA regime is and that it is incomparably worse than Israel. Yet the Israeli left including groups like Peace Now delude themselves, believing that there will only be peace when Israel is more fourth coming on making suicidal concessions. Here’s what one doctor who applied for Jerusalem papers, said:

The whole world seems to be talking about the future of the Arabs of Jerusalem, but no one has bothered asking us. The international community and the Israeli Left seem to take it for granted that we want to live under Mr. Arafat’s control. We don’t. Most of us despise Mr. Arafat and the cronies around him, and we want to stay in Israel. At least here I can speak my mind freely without being dumped in prison, as well as having a chance to earn an honest day’s wage.

That statement represents the truth very well. The Israeli left is willing to give up parts of Israel’s historic capital; even against the wishes of the area’s ARAB inhabitants, to the Muslim Arab Supremacist PA regime. There are plenty more cases of Arabs in east Jerusalem speaking out against being transferred to the PA regime. And not only would giving up parts of Israel’s historic capital to the Muslim Arab Supremacist PA is against the wishes of most of the area’s Arab inhabitants, it would also endanger Israel’s security; since more Israeli cities will be in rocket range of the rejecitonist terrorists who gain more control of the territories if Israel leaves. When Israel made premature withdrawals, the ones who got control were not innocent Palestinians, who just wanted a normal life. The ones who got more control were rejectionist terrorists, who sought Israel’s destruction. They get the backing of the “moderate” Mahmoud Abbas regime. Mahmoud Abbas even made a whole book full of Holocaust denial called “The Other Side”, which questions if six million Jews were killed in the Holocaust and which claims that the Zionists collaborated with Nazis. Yet the Israeli left wants to give up at least parts of east Jerusalem to the Holocaust denying Arab Muslim Supremacist PA regime, which would make even parts of Israel’s historic capital as a base for Palestinian terrorists. The Palestinian Authority does not respect Jewish holy sites and artifacts. And despite that, the loons on the Israeli left want to give up parts of Israel’s historic capital to the Muslim Arab Supremacist PA regime, even while ignoring the Arab residents who make it clear that they don’t want to be under the rule of a corrupt Muslim Arab Supremacist PA regime. And anti-Israel propagandists accuse Israel of ethnic cleansing of Arabs in Jerusalem. If that was the case, then why have Arab residents in east Jerusalem make it clear that they want to remain under Israeli rule? Why did the mayor of the Arab neighborhood in east Jerusalem even say that there will be an intifada if east Jerusalem is handed over to the PA? Why did he say that if there was a referendum, then most people would choose to be under Israeli rule? The claim of Israel ethnic cleansing Arabs anywhere [let along Jerusalem] is complete rubbish. It’s one of the biggest BS claims made in this world. Most Arab east Jerusalemites want to remain under Israeli rule. And yet while even they understand the corrupt and oppressive nature of the Muslim Arab Supremacist PA regime, appeasenik loons in the Israeli left are a sleep and want to give up at least parts of east Jerusalem to the Muslim Arab Supremacist PA.
