Madam Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently made a visit to St. Anthony’s Church in San Francisco, where she was a guest speaker at a gathering of illegal and legal Hispanics.

The gathering, also called- United Families, is part of a 17 city tour created by Illinois Rep. Luis Gutierrez to “put a human face on the immigration debate.” However, the message needs a liberal translation… the real purpose of this tour is to stop illegal immigrant deportation and put a scarlet letter on those that are currently enforcing immigration laws. In fact, Rep. Luis Gutierrez is collecting petitions that will demand President Obama: “stop the immigration raids and deportations that are tearing our marriages, families and children apart.” 

Nancy Pelosi slung the word “un-American” around like a bullwhip at this meeting, but not at who you might think. Any sane person would reason “un-American” as the attitude that every single illegal immigrant here has. Illegal immigrants come to America for the opportunity, living conditions, safety, prosperity, freedom, etc… that was created and preserved by the very laws they are willing to break to obtain these things. If that isn’t an un-American attitude, then I don’t know what is American.

So, who was Nancy Pelosi calling un-American?- Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and anyone that believes immigration laws should be enforced. Pelosi stated that it is un-American for illegal immigrants to be taken from their homes, workplaces, and children for deportation. She defames the value system of America law, and says deportation must stop. It is no wonder that Nancy Pelosi spoke before a crowd chanting “Si se puede (Yes we can!)

She went on to tell the crowd of illegal and legal immigrants, “You are special people. You’re here on a Saturday night to take responsibility for our country’s future. That makes you very, very patriotic.” This is the statement which sent me over the edge. How is any illegal immigrant taking responsibly for “our country?” They are here without citizenship, and therefore this isn’t their country. How are they patriotic to America when they can not even follow the laws that allow them to become American? How are illegal immigrants taking responsibility when they are acting like savage thieves.

If you doubt that illegal immigrants are thieves, then think of it this way- Your bread isn’t good. You want bread from a certain store, but everyone else does too. You go to the store and find that all the bread is on reserve by other people who have put their name on a waiting list. The owner tells you: “you can’t have the bread today, but I will put you on the list, and you will eventually get your bread.” Would you act illegally and steal someone else’s bread just because it is better than what you already have -or- would you wait and be respectful everyone who was in line before you? Illegal immigrants are essentially stealing every Americans’ “bread.” Furthermore, they are stealing from the thousands of people who are patiently waiting on the list to become American citizens.

Nancy Pelosi may call it Un-American to deport illegal immigrants, but I call her un-American for wanting to disregard the laws that have kept this nation the safe, prosperous, and healthy country that it is. I call the immigrant sitting on the waiting list and respecting American law the true patriot here!
