Neo-Enlightened Despotism, American Style: Obamanation

A sociopolitical and cultural-political phenomenon is to be interestingly seen occurring in contemporary America, due to the presidency of Barack Hussein Obama (AKA the Great One, the Anointed One, El Supremo)  that has not been really fully witnessed since at least the 18th century. 

During the 17th and 18th centuries in Europe, there was the existence of so-called enlightened despots who had supposedly combined progressive or “enlightened” thinking and actions with their obviously autocratic or despotic rulership.  The press in America, the drive-by media especially, is in manifest awe of the Great One, El Supremo, who is now, in effect, practically being worshipped because he is, if truth be told, a true creature of the progressivist media who is, therefore, regarded as being just too big to fail.

They have become the equivalent of the French philosophes of the 18th century who had propagandized on behalf of the various radicalisms of their era, inclusive of secularism, sexual license, and much else.  Media people have become the new Voltaires at courts dominated by such real despots as was, for instance, Russia’s Catherine the Great. 

They psychologically and emotionally get vicarious trills in being supporters of power and, moreover, of those people who have political power over the masses.  Such deracinated people get the assumed feeling that they are participating, somehow or other, in the surge and giddiness of experiencing what it is to be powerful and, of course, in the magnificent cause of spreading what they believe to be true enlightenment.

The vast majority of these neo-philosophes are no more concerned with human liberty, as were their earlier counterparts, who generally preferred having authoritarians more quickly institute what they regarded as absolutely needed reforms versus any slower or sloppier but crudely democratic processes.  Such ideological thinking succeeds best, it needs to be made known, where belief in God gets weaker and weaker, as temporal reality becomes defined as being the totality of all that really exists, not any metaphysical order. 

 When it comes to someone who upholds their ideological predilections, however, there does not seem to be the aggressive “watchdog” press ever willing to, thus, supposedly challenge, investigate, annoy, frustrate, oppose, etc. the powers that be, meaning in adamant defense of the First Amendment of the US Constitution; they are, now, just a very tame lapdog press.

The drive-by media, filled with many would-be intellectuals and other such progressivist riffraff,  are merely, in the end, the silly sycophantic swine who swoon over the latest effusions of cheap ideological cant willingly given forth by the Great One.  The well-known national propaganda networks, ABC, CBS, CNN, NBS, MSNBC, NPR, etc., praise, unceasingly, the many exalted thoughts of the high Anointed One, Chairman Barack.  So, what, in consequence, is really happening?

Government qua Big Government, the main hallmark of secularism in action, is to be, thus, carefully and systematically insinuated into the life of the average person in this country, considerably well beyond the grandest dreams of, e.g., an FDR or LBJ.  This will best be indicatively seen in the grand push for, under various euphemisms, a national-socialist health-insurance system as an assumed enormous benefit for almost all Americans, an entitlement.

It will be used as the ideologically-protected Trojan Horse designed to get the American State into the intimate lives of almost all its people; this will be the easy excuse used for wondrously empowering government;  almost everything or anything can, whether directly or indirectly, be related, sooner or later, to various and sundry health-related or involved issues or matters. 

The lives of average Americans will, increasingly, be supremely dictated by the ever more massive, powerful, secularist/materialist, centralizing State, meaning Big Government gone mad; thus, the modern State becomes the ersatz God substitute for the deluded masses, almost all of the academics, and the intellectuals.

Good reading would include Paul A. Rahe’s Soft Despotism, Democracy’s Drift: Montesquieu, Rousseau, Tocqueville, and the Modern Prospect, and The Perfectibility of Man by John Passmore; also, books by J. L. Talmon: The Origins of Totalitarian Democracy; The Myth of the Nation and the Vision of Revolution: The Origins of Ideological Polarisation in the Twentieth Century; and, in addition, his Political Messianism – the Romantic Phase; one can also see: Rauol E. Desvernine’s Democratic Despotism. 

The particular kind of autocratic or, rather, authoritarian behavior manifested in America will, of course, be made suitable and conformable to the needs of a democratic polity in terms of the despotism’s genteel nature; this is in its being much more like a Big Mother regime, not a Big Brother as envisioned by George Orwell.  It will be equivalent to something not spoken of in the past; a kind of mainly mild Fascism-collectivism combination with a proclaimed human face, similar, in many ways, to the Marxism-with-a-Human-Face, as was talked about some decades ago.  

Of course, those who truly oppose this new regime will be dealt with much more harshly and without the assumed sympathies, on almost all occasions, of such organizations as, e.g., the American Civil Liberties Union, which will almost totally defend the new order enthusiastically, as being fundamentally politically progressive, of course. 

Only reactionary, unenlightened, conservative swine, stupidly and wrongly, would be so ignorantly opposed to the justified need for a national-socialist health-insurance system for this country, which is thought to be very long overdue; this is as just a bare, minimum, rational, logical necessity of basic contemporary (collectivist) life, in a progressive nation, dedicated to ever-maximizing equality in thoughtful medical care for all. 

What intelligent person, the elites contend, could possibly oppose that greatly humanitarian goal [that crushes human freedom in the false process of assumed liberation]?  Of course, such national-health care will, as in all the Scandinavian countries, Great Britain, Canada, etc.,  be increasingly rationed and all patients will be more and more highly regulated, therefore, concerning what they will be permitted to do or not do by the government-health agencies.  

Life, for the (politically) unqualified who, e.g., might be (anti-PC) smokers, excessive drinkers, etc. would, thus, be fairly “nasty, brutish, and short.”  This will be, of course, as private health care becomes, increasing, available only for the political, cultural, media, and other elites in America.

Such persistently extreme dissidents or radical nonconformists, those strongly opposed to socialism, will necessarily be sent to reeducation camps, for their own proper safety, no doubt; there, they will happily learn about the many great and glorious things that the new and enlightened, liberal, regime stands for and has to freely offer all those participating and believing people who come to see the social justice inherent in the new order; those who still recalcitrantly, stubbornly, refuse to be well enlightened will, somehow or other, simply disappear (AKA execution).  No price is too high to pay, after all, in truly glorious pursuit of the secular utopia, even if pursued, unto death, through a democratic despotism.

In opposition to the resulting democratic despotism to be pushed by Obama, it is asserted here that only a Federalist-Hamiltonian restoration of constitutional republican government can prevent the arrival of tyranny with its injustice, corruption, oppression, and statism to be logically expected; this means if nothing is done to substantially reverse this expected trend in the next few years. [On this matter, the author of this present article has written and posted an article in defense of the above-proposed countermeasure to be taken in needed support of vital human liberty; it will not, consequently, be redundantly repeated here.]  

For in the end, all isolated or separate reeducation camps will just simply disappear — when the whole country, in effect, plainly becomes one extended prison for the (suppressed) masses — meaning the empirical arrival of a secular and, of course, quite enlightened utopia hyper-dominated by Big Mother Government.   Oh, Brave New World!   It’s Hell on earth, friend, and don’t forget that.
