No Olympic bid may be a sign to the U.S and Chi-city.

On Friday we anticipated for a possibe dream come true as Chicago entered Copenhagen for the rights to host the 2016 games. With President Obama and First Lady Michelle obama pitching for their hometown to get the privilege of Hosting the Olympiad, and as well as support from media mogul Oprah Winfrey, Dissapointment soon filled the air. Chicago was first out of the race, shock and heartbreak was all on the faces of fellow chicagoans as well as many americans who rallied to get the games back on U.S soil but it didnt happen, instead fellow bid rival Rio De Janiero won the bid, as the olympics enter south america for the first time ever and if you’re thinking 2020 dont, Chicago Mayor Richard Daley said “it’s out of the question”. So the question remains why didnt we get the olympic bid? what were the reasons? where did we go wrong?. Well in my opinion in glad we didnt get it ill explain. One reason is that Chicago was not financially stable. Look at past countries who were not fianacialy ready the Athens in 2004 nearly bankrupt the city and now it stands almost in ruins and London has already gone over the budget for the 2012 summer games and now to Chicago. There is a statewide budget crunch, Who knows how much money was taken away from the state during the previous corrput administration of Blago and his croonies, and were in debt and need to be on our feet financially, and our Olympic bid was faulty which is built on the foundation on private donations and development, which in this economy is as solid as sand. The USA, unlike other countries dosen’t guarantee anything if the budget goes over which puts us at a severe fianacial risk.  Another reason is the violence. Over the past 3 years more than dozens of CPS school children have been killed, and the recent murder of Derrion Albert went national, that also put us in a disadvantage. Who wants to travel nearly 10,000 miles to get robbed or killed, so much violence has corrupted the city so much that the gangs are taking over our communities and sadly nothing is being done about it. And finally the relationship between the USOC and IOC is not what you would want to call a cherry on top of an ice cream cone relationship. The 2002 Winter Games scandal in which the commitee bought off judges to get the Winter Gmaes in Salt Lake City, Utah. And a failed televison network in which the USOC wanted and went agaisnt the rules of the IOC, which is very traditional in how the federation handles its buisness. Im glad the city didnt win the bid, it would put us in more fianacial unstability, put people out of their homes, and with the violence risk peoples lives. No games chicago needs ot be a lesson to Chicago and the US. WAKE UP!.
