In this article I write about how the ethics, morality, and psychology of modern man are so low that we basically have to be our own police force.
It is time to adopt a new attitude. I personally have no more respect for law enforcement. However, I know I am a good person and the behaviors of modern cops is not going to keep me from my inner peace.
It is tragic that we live in a time with low morality and high psychological distress. By low morality I am not talking about modern man’s obsession with sex. Basic human decency is no longer a modern practice.
An incident happened to an afro-American professor which led to my deciding to write this article. Upon returning to his home a professor and his driver forced a door in his home open to get inside. Some time before a neighbor noticed the house had been vandalized. This same neighbor called the cops when she saw the professor and his driver force the door in on the day in question.
The police arrived and it is a basic “he said” “she said” story. The professor is claiming that he was singled out for questioning because of his “race”. The police are saying that the professor refused to properly identify himself and was verbally abusive to the officers.
I was not there. However, I have met bad police officers and bad citizens. For ten years of my life I was a disrespected security guard.
In the city I live in, stupid El Paso, Texas, police officers violate the rights of the residents of this city on a regular basis. Close to two weeks ago, some city of El Paso, Texas police officers got in trouble for telling a person to settle down or they would arrest him for being homosexual. There is pending law suit over a police officer continuing to shot at a suspect as the suspect laid on the ground bleeding to death. In addition, there is that police officer who arrested a local TV reporter and his camera operator. This police officer had previous reports of bad behavior against him. I heard on the radio he was denoted to a lower rank and pay.
Of course I could write a book on the bad behavior of local cops in this city. Several days ago, I observed a city of El Paso, Texas comment in an annoyed voice “you cannot come here and break the laws. There is no anarchy here.” This officer was telling this a person from Mexico as he was writing this person a parking ticket.
The officer was doing his job in writing the citation. However, explain to me how his obvious rude comments have anything to do with writing a citation. I suspect he was insulting the person from Mexico by laughing at the fact that Mexico has such a serious problem with crime and corruption.
Either way my new attitude is I cannot trust the cops of any level to come to my aid and provide assistance. This is why I stay away from everyone, especially city cops. Again, let me repeat that there is no need for you and I to lose our decency.
We just have to be smart about the society we live in today. There is an all around lack of ethics, morality, and good personal psychology. This does not mean that good people have to be victimized by cops or criminals.
If we cannot count on the cops, then we have to be our own police force. It is not hard to become informed on the laws related to weapons, “self defense”, and “justifiable deadly force”.
Furthermore, there is not anything wrong with taking the life of a criminal. Who is worth more, you or him? I say people minding their own business, going about providing for themselves legally, and not harming anyone are worth more than those who have no respect for laws or man.
You may have been raised in a different manner. Your mom and dad may have instilled fear in you about taking a life. Furthermore, you may believe that defending yourself may encourage you attacker to be more violent against you.
There is nothing wrong with these values. However, in our modern world with more violence and less professional law enforcement a person can easily become a victim of crime. Therefore, the choice is learn to defend yourself or if you encounter a criminal run the risk of losing your life.
See, criminals are not going anywhere. The reality is that the majority of individuals will not encounter any kind of crime perpetuated at them. However, I always wonder why victims of crime were not prepared to defense themselves.
There are many affordable self defense classes at the community college. Most of the gun laws of cities, states, and this country are on the internet. The major concern in a confrontation with a criminal is “panic”. However, this panic is usually the result of not knowing what to do in order to defend you.
First, rule is to assess the threat. Is the person just being a jerk or is the person going to physically harm you? My rule is the second they take a step towards me; their intent is to do physical harm to me. This means I can use an incapacitating strike on the person. Incapacitating strikes are punches to the heart, kicks to the groin, punches to the throat, and any other strike that will stop the person’s attack.
The intent is not to kill the person. You just want to cause pain and initiate “fear of death” response by interrupting their heart rate and/or breathing. While they are hacking, coughing, gagging, and wincing in pain is when you escape. This used to be the time to go to a populated area and ask for help. However, who are you going to call? The punks with badges will the ones to show up and harass you for striking a person?
I am sorry to put it that way. However, this is our world. The powers that be are psychotic, unethical, immoral, and abusive.
Again, it is not necessary to form a bad attitude against them. It is better to be informed and prepared to defend yourself. I do not believe the world needs any more hate an anger.
What should have happened? The professor should have furnished a legitimate identification card when the police asked for it. A school or employee ID is not a legitimate ID card. In addition, the US Supreme Court has decided that police offers asking a person to see their ID is not invasion of privacy. You still have the right to remain quiet and you are best advice to maintain your silence.
As for the professor continuing to call the officers names and yelling other obscenities at them, I say a person has the right to say whatever he or she wants at their home. The reality is that if the cops had gotten in their cars and driven away the professor would have stopped yelling. However, most police officers always have to prove they are the big block heads on the block.
Three things bothered me about this whole event. The professor’s neighbors did not recognize the professor. Second, having already started to walk away what was the reason to stop walking and go over to arrest the professor. The police had reported that from the beginning the professor was verbally abusive and rude. If they did not arrest the professor in the beginning for his disorderly conduct, what was the need to arrest him after they had already started walking away?
The third thing that bothered me was Mr. Borak Hussien Obama’s remarks. The president of the US is chief law enforcement officer of the nation. It is not good policy for the US president to contribute to the level of animosity and disrespect that already exist against police in the US today.
Of course the greatest concern is Obama’s knee jerk reaction towards the race card. Police harass people of the community every day. I no longer have respect or confidence in law enforcement.
Now let me take some time to talk about “justifiable deadly force”. This is an action taken against another person because the person who took that action believed his, her, and/or the life of another was threatened by the person acted against and which results in death. A person has the right to defend life by using “justifiable deadly force” if they believe that their life or the life of another person is in immiment danger.
The key is that the person using “justifiable deadly force” believes. How is anyone going to prove what you did or did not believe at the time of you using “justifiable deadly force”. To date there is no device that can measure what we believe.
Therefore, again I say cooperate when confronted by law enforcement agents. Understand that part of their tactics to get criminals to confess is to harass them. In addition, as people’s morality, ethics, and psychology worsens we will have to take on more and more responsibilities for our selves. Moreover, finally we do not have to loose our good and decent nature because the majority are falling apart.
