What does it mean for the researchers.
Barack Obama was inaugurated into office recently and he has many plans for the country including change in the federal funding of stem cell research.
The president has reported that he wants to loosen some of the restrictions that had been set on stem cell research. He has promised to do this once he is office.
The Bush administration had put very strict restrictments on federal financing for stem cell research because of the controversy of the research. The Obama campaign is now going to loosen the hold on the funding.
The world’s first clinical trial with stem cells is going to happen this summer not because of Obama’s placement into office, but because the FDA granted permission with no influence from Obama.
We hope to see more studies on stem cells pass the FDA requirements and with Obama loosening the restrictions there should be many more clinical trials to come.
Obama has promised this change all that can be done is hope that it will happen and when it does we will see what Obama’s plan can really do and if he can lead this country into a better tomorrow.
