My opinion of Obama.
U.S. Senator Barack Obama, in his acceptance speech of the presidential nomination of the Democratic Party, argues that he is the right person to lead this country out of the last eight years of turmoil. He supports this claim by relating the other candidate, John McCain, to President Bush with the use of strong evidence, repetition, and a doubtful tone. Then, he lays out his plans for our economy and future, such as a cut in taxes for 95% of American families and investments in childhood education. Finally, he expresses his wish to end the war in Iraq gradually and sensibly. Obama’s purpose is to let his audience know what he can do for us and how he aims to do it in order to persuade people to vote for him. He adopts a reassuring and respectful tone for the Democratic Party and voters.
