Obama grades himself “Incomplete”is he right? Is he going to hard on himself? Or not hard enough?
On CBS television’s “Sunday Morning”, President Obama gave himself an “incomplete” for his presidency, even saying he has a “pretty good track record.”
He says that his grade is incomplete because the economy has yet to fully rebound, however he does site some accomplishments including passing the health care bill, and perventing total economic collapse.
But how does he real stack up against against “campaign” Obama? Against the Obama the said ” I want you to hold me accountable”? Well that according to the Obameter on http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/ Obama doing…well so-so, for example, some may focus on the fact that he outright broke a total of 19 campaign promises, promises including ending no- bid governments contracts, allowing imported prescription drugs, doubling the peace crop and after school program, and that he stalled on 83 others like preventing bankrupt companies from giving CEO bonuses, requiring healthcare providers to report medical accidents, and modernizing pubic health buildings.
During his campaign Obama made over 500 promises, 19 are broken and 83 have been stalled for the foreseeable future, but what of the other 400 odd promises? Turns out he has thus far actually kept 120 promises forms things such as; requiring kids to be covered with health insurance, giving the VA the funding it needs, requiring justification for any tax raises, and yes he did actually lower taxes for 90% of Americans. However that still leaves a whooping 245 problems. What of these? Turns out those remaining promises are still ones President Obama has actually “made an effort” to fulfill, or as Politifact.com calls it “in the works” Will these ad to the 19 broken? the 120 he kept? And what of the economy, if this fails keeping all 500 will be for nil. We can only wait and find out, but as for his grade, he is right on, INCOMPLETE, but he is indeed on the right track.
