This has been an exciting election and the majority have chosen.
Well folks, the election is over for another 4 years. This has been an exciting one and the people have spoken. We have elected change in the way our leaders direct the country. I am sorry to say my county went republican as it has for the past years but many of us voted with our hearts and not for the old system. We see in Obama a way to get where we want this country to go. I believe we will have a possibility for peace and better conditions for the middle and lower income classes. The Bushes and those in cahoots with the oil barons may find themselves left by the way side as Obama experiments with other energy sources.
I for one look forward to huge acreage filled with windmills. I look forward to all new houses using the sun for heat and energy. Even now we do have many homes that produce their own energy from sun and windmill. It is the new wave of the future.
(Amazing Car Fueled by Water) is an article I published on Triond sometime ago It was a car invented years ago that ran on water. Stan Meyers who invented the car died under mysterious circumstances and his water car disappeared. Someone didn’t want it to work. Car manufactures were happy with the gas hogs they were manufacturing and the oil barons were happy to have us buy their oil in a never ending supply. Now with car manufacturing at an all time low maybe someone will continue and built on the water car Stan was so interested in.
I am proud of my country. We have been a great experiment for the entire world to see. Our government is the best in the world and our people have benefited but we still have many people who cannot afford health insurance. We have homeless people who live on the streets. We have little children who go to bed hungry at night. We are so deeply in debt we will likely never get out. Our Medicare for old people will run out in 20 years if something is not done now. Obama has his job cut out for him. It will be a huge job for any one man to take on. He is in my meditations. I believe if anyone can do it, Obama can.

I wish your new president elect a good term of office, he has achieved a wonderful goal and he deserves to prove his worth to the world.
It has been an amazing ride over the last few months – and certainly here in the UK most people were behind Obama (shame we couldn’t vote!). Here is hoping that the great wave of optimism that is rolling through the States can translate in to real change for people!
And as someone who now wishes to a part of the American dream. I say thank you Ruby and God bless America!!!!
With love from London, England
While all of us are excited with Obama’s victory, the rumors spred through internet asking whether Mr. Obama is eligible for 44th president. In my opinion, this election is determined by people’s votes, and thus people shouldn’t prejudise on him. I believe that he’s the right person and capable to bring a change to America.
Take care and may God bless you and America!!!
This was a tough election for me. I did not feel that either one was right for the job. But I will back our new president and hope and pray he will make our country better. I did however like Obama’s speach, I had tears in my eyes. I looked at my husband and say we are watching a very important piece of history here. What an election it was. One we will all remember.
I always revere the office of the presidency. It will be a tough 4 years for all of us.
I just fear that his lack of experience will hinder his ability to make real progress. As a proud American, I hope he can be an effective leader for our country.
I wish the US the very best with their new President. Mr. Obama has written a new chapter in future history books.
God bless
I am very proud of Obama, what he has accomplished and will accomplish. I believe that our country has made the right choice, and will be glad they did. My prayers go out to him, his family and our country.
congrats and good luck not only to Obama but to all the people in the world
Very courageous of you to be so open with your political choices. Thanks for offering your opinions and this geniune article. Our new President-elect will continue to be in my prayers as you have said he has his job cut out for him.
Good luck to Obama and all Americans.
I also hope that Barack Obama succeeds and becomes an inspirational and great leader. He is facing unprecedented challenges. The Bush administration has left this country in a big economic mess. Time will tell how successful Obama will be in lifting us out of this recession.
Wish you Americans a great four years – I\’ll be praying for your leaders. I have to challenge your claim on being the best country in the world. Our Canadian public health care may have waiting lists, but I think we are still much better off. I could never afford the care I receive for my Parkinson\’s if we had a system like yours. We have also been paying down our national debt and balancing our budget. And we have Tim Horton\’s coffee.
Although I am not an American citizen, this is something that has impacted people all around the world. It seems are world is headed in a beautiful direction. I do agree with you that Obama is the smarter choice by far and choosing Biden proved that because he has more experience then McCain, Palin and Obama together. I applaud O bama on his smart choices so far. Your piece was very interesting. God bless!
Obama certainly inherited some of the greatest problems America had ever faced. He needs all the support and prayers he can get. I hope the people will be united in supporting his decisions!
Thank you one and all for your interest and comments. We all know Obama has a rocky road ahead of him. I do not invy him his job. I don’t know why anyone wants it but thank goodness a man like Obama did want it. I also applaud him on his choice of Biden. Biden has the experience that Obama lacks while Obama has the plan, hopefully together they can put this country back on its feet. My best wishes to you all. Ruby
Yes, this country is sick and tired of the mess created by the Bush administration. Finally, we have a chance. Obama is a very intelligent man with good ideas and knows how this country is run and what needs to be done. Nice column.
Very good article. I’m with you, I’m excited for Barack Obama to be our next president, and look forward to some very important change.
I was disappointed with both choices the political establishment gave us. I’m not a fan of either major party, and so I voted third party.
For the first time since the Carter Administration, I voted for a presidential candidate. Although Nebraska went ‘Republican’, I voted for the candidate who seemed to love our country and it’s citizens the most. President-Elect Obama may not always make decisions that I will be in agreement with, but I do believe that, given some time, he may well prove to be the greatest President this country has ever known. Time will tell. My prayers are with him! By the way, 43% of the white population voted for this man. Maybe racism is on it’s way out, finally!!! God, I hope so!
Nice article!
Although it’s late I’d like to congratulate you & your nation for the great achievement in democracy.
I wrote something about Obama

and with Obama’s winning, it’s really an achievement in democracy process.
Thank you all for your comments, and hopes for the success of our Prresident elect Barack Obama. As MJ Katz says, I may not always agree with Obama in the future but I have hopes he will be the leader we need to get us through these hard times ahead. Thank you everyone for your expressions of good will toward our country. I wish you the best. Ruby
….Hi Ruby, Very nicely written article. Of the two candidates running, I do think it was clear who the better president wuld be. it was a changing of the guard in essence, with the young people leading, because they got it. It’s a new day and time for gridlock to stop and for an infusion of new ideas. Our country is basically in a ditch and going deeper. This man will bring together the best, and they will succeed or die trying, is my thought. let us wish them well, we only have one country, and we all have to breathe the same air. God bless us all. Take care.
