The goals being set forth by attempted Cap n Trade legislation are absurd.

President Obama and General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt
President Obama and his Democrats, while still scrambling to regain control of the healthcare debate disaster, continue to quietly plan for an eventual all out offensive regarding upcoming Cap n Trade legislation. Such legislation is not only counter productive to rebuilding a still greatly damaged American economy, but the actual goals within this potential and dangerous legislation are pure folly.
The Democrat Cap n Trade legislation puts forth a goal of capping global carbon to 450 parts per million by 2050. Now for the average American, such a number by itself has very little meaning to them. The Democrats will simply smile and nod, and present the figure as proof of how they wish to save the world from dirty and abusive humankind. The evil Republicans of course care not for the planet, and will oppose this Cap n Trade legislation out of pure avarice – the earth be damned. And yet, where does the real evil of this legislation actually reside? Could it be in the asinine projections of lowered carbon emissions – projections based on pure folly meant only to justify yet another dangerous expansion of government upon private enterprise?
Case in point – the 450 parts per million CO2 goal contained within the current Democrat Cap n Trade legislation represents an 83 percent reduction in current CO2 levels. 83 percent! That would mean that the United States alone would have to reduce its CO2 output to levels not seen since around 1900, when its population was one-fourth of what it is today, and one-fifth of what it will likely be in 1950. In essence, the Democrat Cap n Trade legislation proposes the United States returns to the era of horse and buggy.
Even such nations as France and Switzerland, often noted as the world leaders in CO2 reductions, would fall far short of the Democrat Cap n Trade CO2 reduction goals. Those nations would have to reduce their current emission levels by over 50%, an impossibility for nations already utilizing nearly 80 percent of their energy via CO2 neutral production by nuclear and hydro power. (Both these forms of energy production have long been under attack by environmentalists in the United States by the way…)
Cap n Trade’s impact upon the American economy will be devastating. Food prices will rise far beyond the means of many. Manufacturing costs will also greatly rise, resulting in reduced availability of other common goods, fewer manufacturing jobs, and disastrous increase in overall unemployment. The primary beneficiaries will be the currently wealthy who will become more wealthy – namely such entities as General Electric, owners of NBC and MSNBC. General Electric has spent hundreds of millions promoting Cap n Trade and the affiliated green industry, in order that it make billions in the coming years. GE has already benefited from the Obamaadministration in the form of $140 billion in federal aid to bail out its financial arm. GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt is a member of Obama’s Economic Advisory Board. The term conflict of interest is inadequate in fully describing the potential for corporate-political wrongdoing regarding the relationship between General Electric/NBC/MSNBC and the Obama White House – a relationship so intimate, Immelt described President Obama as a “financier” and “key partner” to General Electric.
Saving the planet has nothing to do with Cap n Trade. Rather, it has everything to do with highly selective profit for those currently in bed with Obama and his democrats, who simply wish to grow the size and scope of the federal government, and all at great expense to Americans.
Such dangerous absurdity…

Did you care about energy companies being on the last administrations close buddies list and wrtting policy that they would benefit from?
I didn’t think so.
Not the point Chris 54! According to all flaming Liberals, ANY and ALL corporations are evil rich white folk only looking to keep their foot on the throats of the ‘blue collar’. Your lunatic fringe president has an alliance with the most radical, communist, socialist, set of alumni ever collected in the oval office. You should be proud of your selection. ANY serious discussion regarding energy must include nuclear, oil, natural gas, and coal FIRST. With the right focus, the innovation in these areas would all but eliminate our ‘dependency’ on other dictatorships around the world (another buzz point for the kool aid masses) and put us back in a position of power in this world rather than on a path to 3rd world status. Get a grip and admit you voted for a radical agenda that will “transform” this country and the way people ‘exist’ in it.
There are so many reasons why the cap and trade legislation is wrong for America. Let your senators know at http://dontcapandtradeourjobs.net/?soc=tmtwt.
