How dividing Americans on controversial issues such as gay marriage is going to help President Obama in getting re-elected…

Once we understand President Obama’s strategy, then his recent string of bringing up divisive issues stops being surprising. First, he openly backed up a woman who was called a “whore” for supporting anticonception as part of insurance paid services for every woman. Then he issued an emotional statement about black teen shot by a neighbourhood watch volunteer, “If I had a son, he would look like Treyvon Martin.” And recently Obama came out with his “evolution” on also highly divisive issue of legalizing same sex marriage.

So, why President Obama does that? Why is he weighing into all these controversial issues just before his re-election bid potentially alienating so many voters? On the face of it, it looks like a political suicide, but there is a well planned strategy behind all these statements. It is known as “divide and conquer.”

Obama knows very well that he failed to revive economy and in many ways he has made it even worse. The national debt is higher than ever as Obama administration broke all the previous spending records, which cannot be conveniently blamed on George W. Bush who now appears like a fiscal conservative in comparison. Nothing changed on Wall Street as rigged and risky investment practices are still in full swing even after all these bailouts, while life for an average American continues to get harder with costs of living, food, and gas continually rising along with unemployment rates that are way higher in reality than official numbers show.

Majority of  Americans from all political camps are not very happy about the situation, so in order to get re-elected, Obama tries to distract voters from the real issues by getting them hyped up about other issues they feel very strongly about hoping that these feelings will trump their discontent. So, he  seeks to divide the nation along the lines of class differences pitting those who favour free market against those who want government to give more money away for social causes at the expense of the “rich,” which we all know is not going to impact the rich, but squeeze the middle class even harder.

Then he taps into recently rising racial tensions by identifying himself with Afro American community in a hope that this will be more important to them than their socially conservative values. Knowing that Americans are divided fifty-fifty on these issues, Obama needs only to sway small portions of voter from each camp in order to win elections once again.

And if he does win, the Americans will get all that Obama has promised all along. Taxes on the rich and all who appear to be wealthy including hard working middle class as well as mega Churches and their pastors living in luxury from the donations, but he will not touch those who really lead America into this economic mess. The American way of life as we know it will not exist when Obama is done with it and though some of the things he wants to do sound quite fair, they are not going to solve real problems that America is facing.

Capitalism itself is not the cause of America’s and of other western countries’ economical woes. The real problem is lack of oversight over it. It is the allowing of financial institutions to create the rules that profit only their bottom line. The mentality of making money without putting any real work into it, but President Obama does not have any plans to change that. Americans must unite and not become more divided. The key is to be an informed voter who is not going to play into the political games of their politicians, but instead force them to bring the changes that the country really needs. God bless you as you make your choice this November.
