Obama’s Stimulus Plan: Who Ends Up Paying?

Why does the left-wing not care that Obama is spending out of control?
Alright. I’m here today to talk about something that seems to annoy me just a bit. Don’t get me wrong — I am supposed to get a full $500 back from Obama’s tax break that was recently passed.
But there’s something that the media won’t tell you, as most of the news outlets are playing extreme softball with Obama and a Democratic Congress. Does anyone remember a fiasco that happened during the Super Bowl? Yes, the same year as the “Wardrobe Malfunction”, there was controversy over an ad from the uber-liberal Moveon.org, where they mentioned that during Bush’s first term as President, that he will have run up a deficit of $1 trillion, and who was going to have to pay for it?
Okay. Is this a big deal? Answer that question. I think George W. Bush topped out at about $400 billion as far as deficits go. Now Obama is talking about a ONE TRILLION DOLLAR DEFICIT in one year! Where are all these self-appointed watchdogs that were hollering about George W. Bush’s frivolous spending?
I think what gets me the most about this tax cut is three things:
First off, does anyone know who’s money this is that you’re getting back? Yes, that’s right. It’s your money! You’re the person who worked all year to get this money. Now yes, I admit it’s a nice gesture, but let’s take a look at what this is like. This is like a mugger taking a good $50 from your wallet and two months later, he returns $5 to you. But all these concerned liberals aren’t stopping this stimulus package. I can’t imagine why not.
Here’s the second problem I have with it — look at what’s going on with the economy right now. Companies are laying off left and right, and the ones that aren’t are doing whatever it takes to cut corners, including but not limited to: Wage freezes, suspension of benefits, cutting back of hours, alternating days for the employees, and the like. Do you see the Federal Government doing this? No. Even though the government is going to draw $1 trillion in red ink this year and our esteemed Mr. Obama is even saying that this could be a stark reality for years to come, and that he’s swearing he will hire people to “find governmental efficiencies”. Here’s one for you — there’s been no real cuts in spending for the government! Finding inefficiencies is like finding a naked girl at a nude beach — you can’t miss one if you try.
My third and final problem is as follows: here’s what I learned the $500 “Tax Credit” is. You’re going to get a 6.2% reduction in the Federal Income Tax on the first $8,056 of taxable income on next year’s taxes. Okay, bear with me on this one. 600,000 people are losing their jobs every month, and we’re going to have a tax credit next year with projections saying that another 3 to 4 million people are going to lose their jobs next month?? WHAT? We don’t need tax relief in a year… we need it RIGHT NOW!
Stop with the mentioning of “cuts” and how much they are! The government doesn’t know anything about cuts! Does anyone know what the government considers a cut. Let me show you what they mean: Let’s say you find a hot stripper who you spend $200 a night on. One night you consider giving her $300, but then decide to give her $250 instead. By the government’s standard, you’ve saved $50! But have you really? No. You haven’t saved anything if your wallet can’t afford to tip this woman $250.00! In this economy, you can’t even afford to give this stripper $50, so why would you talk about cuts at all? To those of us who live and breathe and work and pay taxes and die here, a cut is a reduction in spending. We cut our eating out from three nights a week to two. We stop going bowling. Those are real cuts.
If Obama can’t do that, he shouldn’t be even bothering to tell us to be more fiscally responsible, and an extra $500 this year might sound nice but who’s going to end up paying for it? What Obama needs to do is give Americans a real chance by letting the businesses succeed, not by taking the coat away from America and then give us back the buttons at the end of the year.
