Octuplets are still in the news today. Mother offers to sell her story for two million dollars.

Surprise, surprise, the mother of the octuplets has not so far, had the offer of a lifetime supply of diapers, a new van, or a house. We have watched the reality shows of families with multiples and families with many children rake in money and gifts. And some think this mother thought the same thing would happen to her when she gave birth to eight babies. Nadya Suleman already had six children at home under the age of eight. The fact that she is an unmarried woman with no means of a livelihood and all fourteen children were concieved  by having embryos  implanted  has been a big turn-off for everyone. Companies are not rushing in with freebies to get publicity. They seem to be staying well away.

The mother, Nadya Suleman has been lambasted by talk show hosts, fertility experts and even her own mother has said that she will leave the house when Nadya comes home from the hospital.  Nayda’s mother, Angela Suleman  has stood by Nayda through this whole eposide but she says, “I can’t take any more.”  Nadya’s mother also said she had been told some time ago by a psychologist to turn Nadya out of her home if she insisted on having more babies but she could not do it. The grandfather will be well out of it as he goes back to his job in Iran.

A Hollywood publicist said Sulemans handlers had their job cut out for them in trying to win the publics sympathy for her. He advised her to lay low and practice being a good responsible parent to all the children. Mike Furtney, Suleman’s spokesman said that he is confident that once Suleman tells her story people “will reajust their thinking a little.” He also said that Suleman has received offers for TV and other media deals but it’s too early to discuss any money she may receive. She is also offering to sell her story for two million dollars.

At today’s prices it will cost $1.3 million to $2.7 million to raise fourteen children to the age of seventeen, according to the U.S.Department of Agriculture.
