Today we remember the life of Sen. Ted Kennedy.
Although I am a Republican, I cannot help but respect the late Sen. Kennedy. He was from the old school of Democrats, not the wide left “hippie” democrats that we are often seeing today. Although he was from higher society, he was a man of the people. Often forgotten because of his famous family, late President John F. Kennedy, and late senator from Massachusetts Robert Kennedy, Ted did his best to hold his own. A little known fact about Kennedy is the fact that at the time of this death, he had the second highest senate service record in the senate, and third most in its history.
Like many Kennedys, and politicians alike, Ted was not without his fair share of negative press. Known as the Chappaquiddick Incident, Kennedy while intoxicated crashed his car into the water and killed passenger Mary Jo Kopechne. What made this a dilemma was that Kennedy did not contact authorities after the incident until AFTER the body was found.
A great man was lost today, he will always be remembered for not only his bad, but his oratorical power.
