Please Don’t Insult Our Intelligence

 Like many people around the U.K. i absorb news matters of interest through the television radio and the Internet, this doesn’t however mean i accept the information at face value, God or my DNA strands gifted me with intelligence and the ability to discern lies from truths or hidden agendas!

 Ill start with out and out lies by this current Government regarding some peoples pleasure or habits i.e. Tobacco and Alcohol. I gave up smoking cigarettes and cigars 6 years ago half through choice and half through health issues, i have however kept an eye on smokers and the hoops they have to submit too. No smoking inside Public Houses people now have to stand outside on the streets in all weathers like some secret sect! “The Smokers” i have no problem with people smoking around me but not when i eat, however without Government intervention most pubs had a no smoking bar or a no smoking restaurant “Simples”.

To encourage people to give up smoking the Government has and continue to increase tax on cigarettes being a reformed smoker i can vouch for the addictiveness of Tobacco, people will buy cigarettes regardless of the price if they choose to. The taxation money is used for ? helping people give up if they want? health care ? research into cancer? NO The Government rely on this tax money and tax on Alcohol to sure up their failed policies across the board.The Government “Talk the Talk” but do not “Walk the Walk” they pretend to care for us as the general public but are greedy for our taxes areare ruthless in their pursuit of our hard earned money.

 The latest cry from the pinko spineless Government is “We want to tax Alcohol per unit to discourage teenage drinking” ooh lets think how this will be achieved? The brewers will not see anymore money, bit yes your getting it now the Government will tax Alcohol reap the money and spend it where they please, shoring up greedy bankers or overhauling our trident missiles!.

 Allied to taxing Alcohol and Cigarettes they want to ban advertising of Wine Beer Spirits because it influences the teenagers…Umm let me think i grew up in the 70s with adverts for “Cinzano, Martini, Whiskey, Vodka, Hamlet Cigars, Pipe Tobacco,” the list was endless i didnt affect me, i didnt rush out and try to buy a Cinzano with a Hamlet chaser!

  The face is smiling but watch the hands there outstretched wanting your Tax money pure and simple.Sponsorship by Tobacco/Alcohol companies is slowly dieing out remember “Embassy World Darts,J.P.S. formula 1 racing team, etc etc” Go back far enough in history and in the U.K. you’ll find “Beard tax!!! Window Tax” Please Please just take time out to think for yourself look at who benefits? we are all adults lets start thinking a little !
