“Racism and discrimination are the reason why many blacks cannot get ahead in America.” Racism in the United States has been a serious matter ever since the colonial age. It is not necessary to go back and list the numbers of crimes that have been committed against blacks and other minorities in America. However, for sometime now blacks have been overly playing the race card in America. Racial discrimination is the main reason.

President Barack Obama is now the first black man to ever hold the office as President in the United States. However, will it be enough to satisfy most of the black community now that he is president? By President Barack Obama becoming the first black American to become president it should send a signal to black Americans that the uses of the “R” word for the most part is over. For those Black Americans who have been playing the race card excessively they will have to find another crutch to lean upon.

When people come here from other countries, they seem to not only make ends meet, but some of them go into business for themselves. Not only that, these immigrants pull together, work together and support one another. Therefore, now is the opportune time for blacks to be motivated and get moving on the things that they felt they were being discriminated on. Nevertheless, there are some who are looking for President Barack Obama to pay for their rent, their mortgage, their gas, and anything else they need. Obviously, these folks will be very disappointed.

President Barack Obama however is not totally innocent, for he painted a picture in the minds of many that he was going to be the can do it all president. President Barack Obama has placed himself in a very tough situation with all of the promises he had made. Will Barack Obama focus on the needs of black America over all others as some think he will?

Will black Americans get everything they want now that Barack Obama is now the President of the United States?

Will black Americans speak more favorable of the United States now that Barack Obama is president?

If after four years of having an African American President and black Americans lifestyle have not changed will blacks resort back to the “R” Word?

Some are now saying, “well he is half black and half white.” Will some black Americans use that to cry foul if every thing doesn’t turn out the way they want it to?

Whether one is white or black should not be the issue. We should be judging on the character and not the color. Furthermore, anyone who is trusting a politician to bring about real change will always be disappointed in my book. Everyone should be looking toward God from which all blessings flow. President Barack Obama will be involved with politics throughout his whole administration making deals as all of them do.

Black Americans need to look up and trust and obey the instructions of the Lord, which is found in his word, the book the bible. Jesus has made it plain and clear that he is the way and if one would continue in his word, they, “will know the truth and the truth will make you free.” God is faithful who has promised, that if we seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, he will take care of your needs.
