Rain forests.

The rainforests should not be destroyed. The rainforests are very beneficial to the planet and many animals live in the rainforests, so if the rainforests are destroyed their habitats would be taken away from them. Trivial Fact No.1: Nearly 80 00 square kilometres of rainforest is destroyed every year. On the other hand, when the rainforests are cleared, more space can be made for farming and buildings (causing greenhouse gases). That would mean more food for the world and the starving could be saved.

Many living beings reside in the rainforests. Animals and humans alike. The tribes of the Amazon are still human, and if the rainforests are destroyed then they will have no where to live and will be homeless living in a society where they don’t know anything. Many people also don’t know is that rainforests provide most of the air for Earth and without the trees in the rainforests to process the air, a huge portion of our population will be wiped out. Because without the abundance of air and it becoming scarce, many people will DIE!

Trivial Fact No.2: Approximately 80% of the animals of the animals living in the rainforests over the world can not be found anyway else in the world. The death of these animals will result in many more animals being added to the extinct list, instead of being non-endangered. Anyway, if the rainforests are destroyed, many people will lose their jobs. People like scientists, ecologists, researchers, caretakers for the animals… I personally think, in this economic crisis, it’s very important to keep your job and earn your keep. Also, the rainforests might have some kind of miracle plant that can cure cancer or swine flu or help to cure cancer.

Then there are the few pros of destroying the rainforests. A lot of space would be made for farming and other things the destroyers need for. Trivial Fact No.3: 5 000 trees were cut down to make one tall building in Sarawak, Malaysia. However, there will be many more resources at hand for use for mankind. Then people might take paper for granted and waste it all, meaning no paper and no trees to get paper from.

In the end, many animals and humans will either die or be homeless if the rainforests are cut down. Either way it goes, it would still be bad for them. Living in a world where status is everything. The rainforests are a big part of the Earth’s ecology and natural cycle. Many jobs will also be lost in this tough economic crisis. Not to mention the animals that will die because of the arrogance (or ignorance) of humans.
