An article about president Obama’s lifting of the restriction on federal funding for foreign abortion organizations.
When they were at their most hysterical point, the liberal elements of this country complained about the war in Iraq because war kills civilians, especially children. And it wasn’t just the killing that they disliked; it was also the amount of money that was being spent on the war, which continues to be a valid concern when you look at the current state of the economy.
During the course of the election, a point that then senator Barack Obama continued to bring up was that the war in Iraq and the rebuilding that was taking place there, sapped our own country of valuable funding that was needed in this country. A point that was also popular with some Libertarian voices, such as one of the men running for the Republican presidential nomination, senator Ron Paul.
Another campaign promise made by the man, who claims that he is trying to unify the country, was to find a common ground between those who support abortion and those who oppose it. In his first week as commander in chief, president Obama has already signed an executive order that is in direct contrast with both objectives.
The executive order, rescinds a previous one known as the Mexico City Policy, which was first established under president Reagan in 1984, was previously rescinded by president Clinton and then reinstituted under president George W. Bush at the beginning of his first term.
This policy that has now once again been removed, prevented federal funding for overseas abortion groups, and funding for local advocacy groups who support them. The argument that is made by those who support the removal of the Mexico City Policy, is that by not funding these groups we are allowing the health of foreign women to suffer, and that denying these funds has the exact opposite affect and actually increases abortion.
Time out!
First of all, no matter what the cause is, I am an American who firmly believes that it isn’t the job of the federal government to send funds overseas, and that the foreign aid packages we send out every year are unconstitutional and certainly shouldn’t be funding other countries population control methods- Which is how abortion is used in some of the countries who will benefit from this!
I firmly believe it is the right of every American who supports the idea of overseas population control, to send their own personal check to the desired cause, or join the U.S. Military and rid the planet of those who wish to harm our interests. However I would like to take this opportunity to speak up for those Americans who don’t want their money to be taken and given to an organization that has anything to do with killing babies.
The fact of the matter is organizations like Planned Parenthood are politically motivated groups, who are not interested in decreasing abortion, and are already pressing to cut funding to sex education programs that promote abstinence, these people only care about power and their ability to use “women’s rights” as a slogan to galvanize portions of the population in a movement that stifles the rights of those who are truly innocent and deserve to live.
Liberal’s often will try to gain a special groups support by trying to find an issue to use where they can give that group ‘victim’ status, this is apparent in the way they use pro choice as a way of garnering the feminist group, and talk about ‘reparations’ when they wish to court the African-American group.
I guarantee you that if the African-American population was larger and voted Republican, that the liberals would use the fact that poor people and most significantly urban minorities are overwhelmingly represented as infanticide victims, and to push their new stance against abortion, they would cry for the rights of the unborn child, and they’d claim that Caucasians were trying to keep African-Americans a racial minority through genocide.
It is all merely a push for power. With science pushing the certainty of the start of human life back closer and closer to the point of conception, the Left has finally given up the “just a fetus” argument, and are now clinging to the quality of life, and convenience argument. Statements like “it just isn’t fair to bring an innocent child into a horrible situation” are now running rampant over college campuses country wide, and spoiled college kids who hate the fact that they have to pay for music and feel that they’re suffering because of it, are buying these arguments.
Let me say once and for all, I’m glad I was born, and would prefer to have had the chance at life against any circumstance when the alternate choice is no chance at all. There have been many great men in this planets history that rose above these dire circumstances they were born into and flourished, and by the standards set by those who “feel sorry” for those born in bad situations, if you look at history over 90% of the world’s past inhabitants would have been aborted.
Some are unashamed of their support of baby killing, and find no problem with population control, and use arguments about the earth’s finite resources and our ability to continue to be able to feed everyone. Looking at history, we have been told many times that we’d run out of food, or room, or oil, and every time our own ingenuity enabled us to find ways of feeding more people for less effort, making resources last longer and engines work more efficiently, I’m not yet ready to give up on our potential for making this world livable, and I will look the other way if those of you who find your condition miserable and wish to make room for others off yourselves.
I’m passionate about our nations liberty, and would like to remind everyone that this freedom we have doesn’t give us the right to kill others, the right to choose I believe in, is that if you’re old enough to choose to engage in the adult act of sex, then you are old enough to live with the decision you made, and that either adoption or motherhood are your next responsible choices you are free to make. And by old enough I mean genetically old enough to procreate.
And the right of you to choose not to kill another human being is also being challenged by the same groups who want to protect the right of the mother to kill the child, they are already pressing for laws that will force medical workers to perform procedures that they are morally uncomfortable with such as abortion.
And these people will not stop at the point of birth; population control will eventually reach a point where they will mandate when you are supposed to turn up to a government facility to pass on because you’ve lived past the point in life that the world has benefitted from you the most, and you will not yourself be receiving the best quality of life.
The arguments reasonable people use about abortion are valid, when the mother is at risk, or both the baby and the mother, than I don’t wish to play God and decide who should live or die. But this circumstance, and the other circumstances a majority of people consider reasonable: Incest, Rape, etc., are only responsible for 2% of all the abortions that happen in the United States, the other 98% that a majority of people disapprove of are for convenience.
It is amazing how powerful the connection that is built between a mother and a child is, so powerful in fact that women who have children are able to realize better than anyone how special that unborn child is, based on what will be. A check of the numbers will show that if you have never had a child and you get an abortion you represent almost 9 out of 10 of the women who abort their child, and the more children you have the less likely you are to have an abortion to the point of almost none. And these are the women who truly know how painful and difficult a pregnancy is, not those women who terminate early who are as clueless as I, a male who will never bear a child.
And so, we’ve just witnessed our president rescind a policy, that will not only allow American taxpayer dollars to be sent to overseas abortion groups, but this action will also tie our money directly to population control methods that will kill more innocent civilians than all the wars we’ve ever participated in, welcome to the era of American Democide.
*Democide is a term coined by political scientist R. J. Rummel for “the murder of any person or people by a government, including genocide, politicide, and mass murder.” – Wikipedia
