Each party is out for their own best interests, not the interest of the country.
Last night I was watching Fox Business and they had two politicians on the spot duking it out. The Republican was spelling out how much the new administration was spending and creating the huge deficits that we all will be facing in the years to come. The democrat was coming back with the notion that all of this was handed to this administration by George Bush and we had to spend our way out of the recession. However, the democrats were heavily involved in the Bush administrations rasing the national debt as well. Both sides are culpable in this big black hole of endless spending Washington is involved in.
The fact is, neither side is willing, or at least not enough of them to put the brakes on this runaway train. Most politicians are in this to get re-elected, so their main goal is to get the feds to bring money to the home district they represent. When they do, the folks back home think they’re great and vote for them, so their legacy continues. However, this way of doing business simply will not sustain itself. No entity, a business, person or country can continue borrowing recklessly without eventually having to pay the bank. Sure, we can print money, put it into circulation and hope all goes well. This will cause inflation and we all will pay. As we borrow more, our credit rating will go down because we are not operating from a position of strength, thus the dollar will be devalued and oil will continue to rise and we will pay at the pump. We have been deluded into thinking that borrowing more will cure our ills, but it could make us even sicker, down the road. But no one wants to look down the road.
At least in the Clinton administration, there was a concerted effort to balance the budget, what ever happened to that idea? It’s something that the people first must address, get our heads out of the clouds, and begin to let the bureauocrats know we’re not stupid and this insanity must end. If these two parties won’t start looking out for the people, who will? It’s been proven that no other party can beat the Republicrats at their game so we’re stuck with them, and we will sink or swim on their watch. The question all of America must begin to ask is “who is watching out for us?”
