Come January 1st, Sarah Palin could be the Vice President of America. America and the wider world should be very, very worried.
Much has been made of Barack Obama’s middle name being Hussein and his practicing of Islam (or possible lack thereof). Seeing as these are extremely pretty arguments, why hasn’t Sarah Palin’s name been mentioned more often? If you re-arrange the letters of that you get “Sharia Plan”. If you want a better understanding of that, you may want to research it yourself. Getting information and sources for it online aren’t simple, and as such I have no intention of writing information that I can’t back-up online on the issue. BBC News has some information on a case involving Sharia law for anyone looking to learn some more about it. In relation to religion, Palin is a fundamentalist Christian. This means she takes everything in the Bible completely seriously. She believes in Creationism and opposed to Evolution. Despite all the proof backing up Evolution, she continues to try and promote Creationism despite the fact that many churches and church members have admitted it is meant to be a metaphorical story, not a literal one.
Most people know the story of Troopergate by now. If not, you can use the previous link to learn more about it. In short, Palin is alleged to have fired a police commissioner because he would not fire an officer, who was in a custody battle with Palin’s sister. If this is true, it would prove to be a major abuse of power on Palin’s part. If she is capable of doing this without so much as a guilty conscience at state level, it is a worrying thought to consider what she might be capable of at presidential level.
Barack Obama’s lack of experience has been mentioned on dozens of occasions by the McCain campaign, but if anything has been learned from Obama’s campaign, it is that the man sure knows how to mastermind and control one hell of an organisation. Obama may have only been a Senator since January 2005, but he has more experience as a Senator than Palin has as even a Governor. Palin hasn’t even been a Senator. She knows next to nothing about anything outside her state. The thought of a “hockey mom” becoming Vice President (and quite possibly President as a result of McCain’s age) is a truly horrifying thought.
Palin has next to no foreign experience. She has only visited 3 countries, or so she claims. These are Kuwait, Germany and Ireland. Her visit to Ireland consisted of a stopover at Shannon Airport. Combine that with the fact that she thinks living near Russia counts as knowledge of future foreign policy and you’ve got someone who seems to know nothing about anywhere other than her own country, possibly even only her own state.

but don’t you think having filled the eminently brainy job of a Miss Alaska just must qualify her for the job of President?
I totally agree with you Greyian. She seems to me to lack the leadership qualities required for a governer let alone the vice president. In un-pc terms, she is a bit of an airhead and if she is ever the president of the USA the world should be worried.
I agree completely. Palin is a horrifying choice of vice presidential candidate. If McCain gets elected and for some reason Palin takes charge, we are all in for one really rough tme.
I’m certainly worried and I’m sure so is the rest of the world.
Well said. She talks like a ditz…Can you imagine her taking on Vladimir Putin with her folksy hockey rink language…
Well said…
What is an old warmonger and a stewardess doing running for President?
The stewardess thinks she has foreign policy experience because she can see Putin taking a piss across the pond….and the old warmonger with the stubby arms is making up war stories based on events that happened 40 years ago…
Good points in this article. The whole world is waiting and crossing their fingers. McCain is way to old to be running with such a poor choice for Vice President.
So, Brother Greyian, how do you really feel? I’m not to clear why you are comparing one VP candidate against one Pres. candidate? I also found the rearranging of the letters of her name into Sharia, or anything else for that matter, to be a bit ludicrous. Grow up, man!
And speaking of Islam, Americans will be shocked to know that there are over a billion Muslims world-wide who consider Barack Obama to be a Muslim, on of their brothers, simply because his father was a Muslim. Muslims don’t care that Senator Obama considers himself a born-again Christian – according to Sharia Law and Islamic principles President-Elect Obama is a Muslim.
There are millions of American Muslims who will now say that America has a Muslim president. What do we think of that?
So please don’t joke about Sharia anything or call the Hussein issue something that is petty. Having lived in the Middle East, I will tell you that Muslims are rejoicing that Senator Obama won. Is America ready to engage Muslims, Arabs, finally? So, Greyian, lets be a little more…realistic!
And congratulations to Senator Obama and his victory tonight.
Brian, you don’t seem to get the Sharia Plan argument. It is a joke, slagging the fact that the Republicans have repeatedly brought Hussein to this election. Someone’s name doesn’t mean anything. Sharia Plan/Sarah Palin means nothing, and the fact that Obama has Hussein in his name shouldn’t mean anything either. If my parents had called me Hussein, would that mean that I’d be a different person, with different ideologies? No, it wouldn’t. Names don’t mean anything.
As for Obama being a Muslim or not, that shouldn’t have anything to do with the election either. Religion shouldn’t dictate whether or not you think someone is capable of being a president. If Obama is Muslim, would you expect him to change the American religion to the Muslim faith? Would he make praying 5 times per day to Allah mandatory? No. It’s like sectarianism in Northern Ireland. Your religion shouldn’t have anything to do with your job, or what people think of you. It’s like racism. Is someone inferior or superior because of skin colour? No. Are they inferior or superior because of their religion? No. We don’t live in the 19th century anymore.
As for Muslims around the world considering Obama a Muslim, that doesn’t mean he has to cater to them, does it? I think not. And if they consider him Muslim, people in Muslim states will probably now have a new-found fondness for America that wasn’t there before. Some positive “publicity” is something America really needs worldwide right now.
As for comparing Palin to Obama, I did so because John McCain had a 1 in 3 chance of dying if he got the “job”. That’s based on average life expectancy, and the life he has led. I also highlighted the comparisons, because they are both of similar age and experience, and the fact that Palin was picked damaged a lot of the Republican “Obama has no experience” arguments. Also, Obama would be relying on Biden to bring that experience to the table, so rather than look at McCain vs. Obama, it should be Democratic Ticket vs. Republican Ticket, which means comparing Palin and Obama, or McCain and Biden should be perfectly acceptable.
So she is a fundamentalist Christian, so what. We need God’s blessing on this country anyway and leaders who acknowledge Him will bring blessings to this country. Who cares if she believes in evolution or not? Not believing in evolution doesn’t prevent anyone from governing well. None of the Founding Fathers believed in evolution. It didn’t stop them from doing a good job governing.
Now as for Trooper gate. You guys either don’t have all the facts, or you are deliberately leaving stuff out. The trooper is question was married to Sarah’s sister, Molly. But the marriage went bad when he started beating her. They had a bitter divorce. There was a nasty custody battle. Molly got hurt a couple times. The whole nine ugly yards. In the course of it, he threatened to kill Molly’s dad, not a smart thing to do when you are married to (or were married to) the governor’s sister. Now he had just threatened the governor’s father too. Word of this reached the office of the governor (who just happened to be Sarah Palin). She decided that people who make these kind of threats were not fit to be state troopers. That combined with the fact that he was a wife beater, made Sarah decide that he was a loose canon who had to be taken off the force.
Now are you wonderful feminists, who hate violence against women, going to support a wife beater, just to avoid being on the same side of an issue as a pro-life woman? Is sliming Sarah so important to you, that you’d actually side with a wife beater, just so you can throw mud at Sarah? Or has learning these facts made you less judgmental about what is known as “Troopergate?” What would you do if you were governor and some guy beat your sister and threatened your father? Would you respond differently? Would tenderly protect the guy’s career?
I see a lot of caring and compassion in Sarah. Look at the way she let her little Down’s baby live. In other ways she comes across as a soft, caring person. I think she would be good in the white house. You people who are scared stiff of her need to get over it, and get a life.
well, the only real reason people slag palin are cause they are scared of here. Their ‘chosen’ one is now in office, and we see how well he has done. Europeans love him cause he shares a vision just like their own countries.
The way is looking, Obama had the chance, now he can bring Carter back.
