In this article, I write about the change in Sarah Sotomayor’s ethics and morality now that the US senate is questioning her.
My principle statement on Hispanics and immigrants is that many of them have substantial experience with practices of fraud. From the time they were kids they have observed their parents steal from stores, lie to the bank, and lie to get social services.
This is not to say that there are no decent and honest Hispanics and immigrants. I am sure somewhere out there, there has to be at least one. At least statistics lead us to believe this fact.
Furthermore, I must state that I do not consider myself above anyone. I am different and have more value than some people. I know to society I am worth more then a rapist and murderer. My principle response to some one who asks,” aren’t we all the same”, when I am discussing Christianity with them is “so you are a murderer”. It takes them while to figure out my point.
Let me tell you who I am. About forty-three years ago, I was born in Mexico. Four years later, I was brought to the US. My brother and sisters where born in the great US of A. I had to be given the dishonor of being born in Mexico.
However, let me speak very clearly. If had some how stayed in Mexico to adult age, I would have found my way here ASAP.
Okay, what was the point I was trying to make? Oh, that is right. I know the members of the Hispanic community very well. My first experience with Mexican immoral behavior would have been my parents bringing me into this country without bothering to submit to legal arrangements.
I know no one should speak of his parents this way. However, let us not be afraid of honesty. My entire life I have heard and seem the attitude that, “It is okay to take from those that have because they obviously got “it” by stealing and lying themselves.”
Yes, I live in a border town of mostly Mexicans. Yet, I have met Argentineans, Spaniards, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, and many other people from Spanish speaking nations. I am not going to say that they were unethical and immoral. However, enough of them have voiced the opinion that it is okay to defraud the government.
Moreover, as it is my custom I was meditating on what it means to say that I am better then other people. I am better then the majority of the people I meet. I make it a point to be informed about world events. I think rather than feel. I drive carefully. I am not attacking members of society. I neither abuse drugs nor commit other crimes.
In addition, I do not say one thing and do another. Ms. Sotomayor wrote very clear opinions, which today she is denying as she is being questioned by US senators. I suggest that the ease by which she answers these inconsistencies in her life is do to the fact she to has had prior experiences with fraud.
I also suspect that culture snobbishness is part of the equation. In my life, out of frustration, I have ordered more than one Mexican back to his homeland. This was the result of hearing them gone on about how great Mexico is and how bad America is in the world. My response is always, “If Mexico is so great, what are you doing here?”
The bigger issue is that people whom practice cultural snobbishness can never be accused of sin. They come from the better culture, which is more intellectual, ethical, and moral. Thus “no one can accused them of anything” is their attitude.
I am a behavioral analyst by hobby. In the past, I have said, “If you want to know if you can trust someone or not, compare what he or she says to what he or she does in life”. This is why watching Ms. Sotomayor lie to congress is so interesting. Remember that most people who will lie to you will not look you in the eye. I did not see much eye contact between Ms. Soto and the person questioning her. What I did see was Soto writing on a small legal pad as the questioner was speaking.
The advantage of studying human behavior is that you can tell when a person’s emotions have been activated. I saw real signs of sadness when Soto was confronted with having to explain saying that a Hispanic woman with the vastness of her experience would make a better decision then a white man. It is my opinion; Soto fears this inconsistency will derail her nomination.
In addition, I believe Soto really wants to be a Supreme Court Justice. She is obviously well prepared to lie. She is in severe control of her emotions. In addition, she is trying to be charming with people who are basically accusing her of being dishonest.
I do not anyone who would put with having his or her psyche questioned so intensely, especially a person who believes she is better then everyone else. All people have limits. Accusing some one of not being ethical usually results in a fight, not a whimsical back and forth.
Moreover, let me speak very clearly. I do see a world of people who lack sincerity. As of late I have spent a lot of time writing on ethics and morality. The reason is that I see a serious decay in society. It is very easy to disregard man’s law as well as God’s law.
The reality is that none of those senators has the right to question Soto. They suffer from a lack of integrity also. It is their congressional duty. However, they do not carry personal credibility.
In the end, Americans will get another judge who has sensitivities towards legislating from the bench. Since Roe v. Wade there have been over 40 million unborn babies murdered in America. A judge thought that the constitutional protection of privacy meant that the federal government could not bother a woman about what she did with her body. Sounds like a perversion of the law to me.
However, as Christ said, “ it is a wicked nation that looks for signs”. It is my burdensome task of informing you that society and life will only get worse. What we are seeing in the circus known, as the American congress today is a record of how low modern man has stooped. It brings no answers, only leaves more questions. If you are looking for answers, look in your heart and find your morality and ethics. The build your life, recognizing that the majority of people around you are not your intellectual, ethical, and/or moral equals.
Sarah Soto mayor is not a savior of the Supreme Court. The problem with the court is that liberal presidents- in order to appease their base- try to fill the court with judges who will empathize with those considered to be poor and unfortunate.
Since when did poverty excuse a person from ethics and morality? Soto wrote the statement about a Latina woman having better decision-making skills then a white man. In addition, she spoke at a conference in a sarcastic and cynical way about judges legislating from the bench, implying she believe judges should legislate from the bench. However, today she denies these statements and their significance.
The contract between the people of the US and their government is very powerful. The safeguard is the Supreme Court. When government goes to far, the Supreme Court has the authority to push it back. However, today we live in times were everyone is a convenient politician, molding their ethics to fit the environment they find them selves in at that moment.

Unforetunately Jesse, so many people today are so liberal that they cannot see through the deceit in our congress, or our government. Most people living in America today have never seen real hard times. It’s a selfish group who believe in foolishness, such as we will always be free (they act as if it comes free) and everyone is entitled to whatever they want. Morality is at an all time low when it thought that killing thousands of babies because they were a product of lust is okay. I agree with your assessment of SotoMayer, but the mis-guided liberals think she is okay and will approve her.
