It’s getting close to summer, students are getting excited, the economy’s free fall is easing and everyone waits with baited breath. And the world’s most powerful men and women are meeting in a hotel to discuss the world’s future in secret.

   It’s that time again. College students are preparing for finals, high school students are marking each calendar day in anticipation (and their parents in fear). And the world’s corporate, political, banking, military and media elite are gathering to meet in secret May 14th-16th in Athens, Greece for the 2009 Bilderberg meeting.

   What is Bilderberg? Well it’s a secret meeting of the world’s elite. Their attendees have included the likes of Henry Kissenger, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Larry Summers, Bill Clinton, Tony Blair, Dick Cheney, John Edwards, Ben Bernanke, Joe Biden, David Rockefeller, Queen Elizabeth etc etc…. The world’s elite. According to the Wiki page, it was originally created by the Dutch royalty in Europe and the CIA under Eisenhower to further American-European relations and discuss the problems threatening both.

   Conspiracy theorists believe it to be the Illuminati. And honestly, I really can’t blame them, for one reason. Have you ever heard of Bilderberg? Do you see the New York Times or CNN reporting about it? No. And don’t tell me they’re not interested.The media goes ga-ga over the oppurtunity to have a chance to get a chance to take a photos of the world’s leaders together at the G8. Wouldn’t they be more interested to get a photo of the enormous star power of getting all these folks together? Why is their a media blackout?

   Daniel Estulin is one of these conspiracy theorists who has covered Bilderberg for around 15 years. He claims to have cultivated several contacts with Bilderberg attendees that allow him privileged knowledge of what’s discussed. Last year he made predictions of the housing bubble bursting, and gas prices falling from these contacts. This year he claims the agenda for Bilderberg is the future of the US dollar, the financial crisis, and the future of the Lisbon Treaty which Bilderberg is pushing for further integration of the EU into a single political entity.

   One last detail. Wikileaks has released documents stating that Bilderberg discussed turning Europe into a single political entity with a common currency back in the 1950s.
