If we can’t depend on our own government, what can we do?

Much has been discussed on the internet about our president, Barrack Obama, some good but much borderline sedition, all protected under the First Amendment. Least we forget, Obama is just one man,m admittedly the most powerful man on the planet but still just one man. He is supposed to be the lader of the free world, holding up democracy for all to see but what the world is seeing is the decline of personal liberties on a scale never before seen in the annals of history.

Before I continue let me state that these are my opinions and thoughts based on my observations of this nation’s events. I welcome your comments, just keep them civil and on topic.

Obama was elected on his race and false promises while being handled and instructed by big money and business. he promised a chicken in every pot and a Chevy in the driveway, saying pretty much what people wanted to hear, that’s where his speech writers earned their money. I stated from the start of his campaign, on numerous blogs, that he was being expertly handled effectively but I was shouted down and labeed a racist. Now the nation is finding out that I was right. We’ve bailed out the insurance companies, banks, car manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, everybody but those who actually need help, the American taxpayer. He has given lip service to mortgage woes while unemployment has soared through ten percent and continues to rise. Yet we are still being asked to blindly follow him.

Budget problems follow unemployment, states are going bankrupt trying to maintain minimal services while seeking aditional federal dollars, dollars that eventually come from us, tha taxpayer , that we don’t have. Since Obama’s inaguuration, there has been numerous accounts of desperate citizens taking their own lives and those of their families because they saw no escape from their situation, I can sympathize with them, I’ve had the same thoughts myself. When our own government decide to throw billions of dollars at big business instead of helping her citizens, there’s something wrong with the picture.

I am NOT advocating an armed revolt but I sincerely think it will eventally come to that. It will be an open rebellion against our government in complete disregard for the law as we now have it as a means to survive. It is currently against our tax code to barter between two people for goods or services but people do it anyway as a means to put food on the table. People now hunt out of season, in violation of game laws, in order to put meat on the table. It is against the law to collect rain water, at least in Colorado, but it is done anyway in order to water the vegetable garden or because utilities have been turned off. The homeless will sleep or camp wherever they can and that is usually with people in similar situations but that also breaks the law. Soon people will stand up and simply say, “I’m surviving so leave me alone.” There are more homeless people than they are cops so who wins out. Remember the cops carry guns and love to use them and they have the law on their side but not right, as in right from wrong.

Today’s situation is about survival, surviving each day, surviving our interferring government, both local and nationally, surviving the dominating hand of big business and making a new life for ourselves as best we can. It would be in the best interests of all concerned of government remembered one thing, they are supposed to work for us, not vice versa. To date, that hasn’t been the case but it will change. How that change will come is yet to be determined.
