Swine Flue Hype and Hysteria

The mass hysteria surrounding Swine Flu seems to be utterly ridiculous. I don’t know whether this is just me and my opinions, but it’s a simple flu that spreads similarly to all other types of flu. It’s not particularly deadly or dangerous. Every year in USA, more than 36000 people die due to complications caused by a common flu. So why does this attract so much attention. Fear. The media and governments, like to show that they are controlling a threat to our lives which shows that they are reacting in a good way to protect us. Less than 1 in a million people have caught the flu and most people who have died have not had access to medical facilities to treat any complications caused. The actions of some governments including the Chinese and the Egyptians has been totally over-the-top by forcing people into quarantine and the slaughter of all pigs.
