Glenn Beck recently thanked big oil companies. Hmm, I’m not sure that is the right direction.

Glenn Beck recently published an article on CNN.com in which he “thanked” big oil companies. This is quite the article if you are to ask me. He claims that we all want to leave this world a better place than when we found it. This may be so, however sentiment and action are two very diverse things.

He says that we are obsessed with making big oil out to be villains; maybe so, however that does not mean that we should thank them or write articles defending them just because it is the different thing to do. Big oil has its hand in injustices in the making of their money and the spending of it. They take large excesses, and if they actually cared about the country, oil would not be so expensive. Yes the price of oil is made according to the laws of supply and demand, however maybe we should not be so concerned about Al Gores mansion and be more concerned with disgusting excesses that they take when they could be helping Americans by giving their product at the cheapest possible price.

He thanks them because they give us transportation ability, which is undeniably true, however it is completely nugatory if they are harming us in any other way. They promote an unhealthy consumerist lifestyle through their individual actions, the represent a selfish block forever in the way of our progress towards a healthier environment.

By Beck’s reasoning we should thank them so long as they are helping us however if they are not serving us as all men are supposed to serve each other than no matter what small benefits we may get by their work it is naught.

Beck says we need to look at reality that other men such as Gore may be contradictory between their teachings and actions. Again I say this may be so, however I think it is Beck that has to look at reality. The reality is that climate crisis no matter what you think of its validity is something that is not going away. It is empirical now that we are doing damage to our environment no matter to what extent you may think it be. It is our responsibility to each other to find the solution.

Beck assumes that all men are as he: covetous machines only motivated by their own self-interest. I have seen his show where he plays the role of the loud boisterous man who brings things down to “reality”. By reality he means his reality, not the reality of the human nature or the earth. He assumes that all men are motivated only be self interest, and furthermore I have heard him denounce food stamps and other such things saying, “is there no shame!!!!”

Hah, is there no shame on his part for being so heartless? Is there no shame that rich oil executives shit on gold toilet seats while millions of Americans who fought with honor and dignity for their country sleep under bridges every night?

I think its Glenn Beck that is extremely un-credible, and it’s not the Al Gore’s (who may be unjust) but the Beck’s that we should be fearful towards. Beck does not care about the American population, his show and supposed “guidance” is just another product on the market. That’s all it is to him, if the market told him to tell lies he would do it because he is blind towards a concept that is quite simple and that I have complete faith would solve all of our problems: honesty. Honesty and honor what weird concepts! That’s not reality though according to Beck; we should pervert reality to covetousness and self-interest.
