The Inauguration of Obama.
A new president was sworn in, and was possibly the most historic one yet, as it was the inauguration of the first black president. The turnout of people at the inauguration posted a record estimated 2 million people who braved the cold. An estimated 37.5 million viewers tuned into the election on television. The amount of celebrities who were at the inauguration was overwhelming, and the accompaniment speeches and songs added to the tune of optimism flowing out of everyone at the inauguration, and everyone in America. In 2008, Barack Obama mentioned this is the time for change. In his inaugural speech, he had a somber tone, but at the same time, an optimistic one. He mentioned the problems at the start, and at the end, he mentioned the solutions. He ended saying that the problems are real, and the will not be met immediatley, but they will be met. A new president has been sworn in, and perhaps the dream of Martin Luther King came true. One thing is for certain, though; America will not forget this day for a long, long time.
