President Obama’s government just effectively took over two of the major US car companies. Is rampant taxation, wealth destruction, and socialism about to force a new expatriate movement?

While I was at work, President Obama dictated to GM and Chrysler the business plan they must follow to survive.  He fired GM’s boss and gave the company a deadline to get their business plan into line with his ideology.  He told Chrysler they were finished as an independent company.  Now both corporations know the price of making a business deal with the devil.

The stock market, which has the nerves of a four year old girl, dropped.  It will fall farther.

European countries, who know the misery of state-controlled economies, are rightly criticizing the leftwing mania of our current administration.  Suddenly, by comparison, France seems like a bastion of Capitalism.

My question is this: if America becomes the incarnation of Mr. Obama’s leftwing fantasy, where can we, Americans who value capitalism, freedom, and opportunity, go?  If our great nation is to succumb so young to the socialist delusion, why not live in France?

Look for a new expatriate movement.  This will not be a movement of the writers and artists, as in earlier generations.  The ones thinking of getting out are the producers.  They will take their expertise to countries less socialized and more business friendly. Those who can afford to get out are starting to make plans.  American businesses are seriously thinking of relocating outside of the country.

When the producers leave, who will foot the massive tax bill that President Obama’s incredible spending will necessitate?  The middle class folks who can’t afford to move on.  If things go unchanged, we will see diminishing standards of living for the longterm.  The American dream may have been dealt a fatal death blow last November.
