Wake the up, all you guys in Washington, D.C.. Where do you get off giving this guy such a hard time. He is well spoken, qualified, and I greatly admire the way he handled himself in Washington.
This man has done nothing wrong. Remember the credo of our justice system, innocent until proven guilty. Apparently, Illinois feels that it does not have to adhere to this.
Is Blagoyevich guilty? More than likely. Has this been proven in court? No. Is he the duly elected official to make the decision? Yes.
O.K., so the secretary of state hasn’t signed his credentials. Hence, he was not allowed to take his seat. I say the secretary of state is delinquent his duty as secretary of state to not sign the document, as required by law.
Mr. Burris is very well spoken and his voice is soft and even. He is obviously not intimidated by the brush off from the senate. He handled the situation with impeccable class.
The state of Illinois has been hogtied by it’s own laws. Incidentally, This sends another mixed message to the rest of the world, because the state is trying to block the appointment of a man because of the presumed guilt of another. What happened to my country?
