Is Socialism the answer to Americas problems? I think not.

Well, we are finally finding out what kind of change Obama wants for America.

He is Implementing his Ideology In a rapid fashion right under our noses. He has decided that the government should take over private businesses and should control our access to health care. Next He will attempt to disarm the American citizens. Though his intentions may be good, His Ideology is dangerous to a free society. At the core of Obama’s policies is the simple assumption that government knows best , and that those who work hard to have much should share with those who don’t.
Using The economic down turn as a means to get His policies in place, Obama is emboldened to accelerate the process of “changing” America from a Republic to a Socialist nation. The moves that have been made by this administration so far have not stabilized the economy and unemployment is over 9%. This indicates that the methods taken have not been working. But we need to remember that one way or another, the government usually runs the economy into the ground, What strikes me as strange is that except for conservatives, No one really cares. The mainstream media is obvious about not caring, but the indifference seems to effect ordinary Americans as well. Do we need to remind them that socialism is not simply a more liberal version of ordinary American politics?
Is socialism dangerous? I say Yes. Let’s look at socialism in action during the 20th and 21st cenuries.
One example is Nazi Germany. Most people forget that it was a socialist dictatorship. Or perhaps they’re ignorant of the fact that the Nazi’s official and frequently forgotten name was the National Socialist German Worker’s Party. Though most people consider the Nazi party to be a totalitarian ideology arising from the right, it was actually a totalitarian party arising from the left.

Another example of Socialism Is the the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. (The USSR). What was it like for the people who thought this Socialism would make life better for them? Those who Weren’t out right Killed might starve to death on collective farms or join the ranks of millions who ended up as slave laborers in the gulags, most of them incarcerated for thought crimes against the state.
We also have an example of socialism at work in the People’s Republic of China.

The same pattern as in Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia are exhibited In China. Individuals were instantly subordinated to the needs of the state and, as the state’s needs became ever more grandiose, more and more people had to die. Current estimates are that Mao’s “visionary” Great Leap Forward resulted in the deaths of more then 100 million people. The people died from starvation, or suffered torture which ended in death. Many were just outright murdered because of thought crimes. The same pattern, is displayed in socialist North Korea. These are examples of “hard” socialism.
Now let’s take a look at look at an example of “soft” socialism. “Soft” socialism lacks a constitutional republican system of inherent checks and balances in government with a Bill of Rights and a declaration of independence that preserve the sanctity of individual rights and equal opportunity. Britain is an example of “soft” socialism.
Britain’s socialist medicine is a disaster, with daily stories about patients being denied care or receiving inadequate treatment.. Invariably, this occurs because the State’s needs override the individuals: Either the treatment is generally deemed too costly (and there are no market forces at work) or the Individual patient is considered unworthy of receiving proper care for reasons ranging from being to old or maybe having a disability that makes them less valuable to the state so they are not entitled to appropriate medical care.
Britain has began to disarm the citizens starting in London. The results have been an upsurge in violent crime in the city. The only ones still armed are the criminals.
In Britain children are urged to report their parents for “ Green crimes”. And the rights of criminals receive more protection then the rights of law abiding citizens.
“Soft Socialism” is a form of collectivism. Collectivism means the end of individualism.
In this collective Ideology, If you work hard and sacrifice much to become successful and your neighbor does nothing to get ahead. He is entitled to share in your earnings from your hard work and sacrifice. We already have a form of this going on with the welfare system.
Under the present Obama Administration It will become more overt and widespread. It will be hardly worth it for any of us to work toward becoming successful in our chosen fields. Maybe we won’t be able to even chose what field of career to go into. Maybe the government will chose that according to what the” collective” need is.
Socialism is not the American way! It has historically been proven to be the end of freedom for the individual and always leads to the death of a free society.
From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs (socialism).
Socialism is about taking from those who strive to be a success and give to those who don’t.

I have warned people about Obama since before he was elected, but everyone turned a deaf ear. America, Let FREEDOM ring!
I fully agree with you here, Socialism can be a dangerous path to walk down, especially where dictatorships are in control of their own citizens lives and welfare. Though I must admit that the majority of us Brits like Obama, and we’d gladly exchange him for our lacklustre Prime Minister, Gordon Brown!
PS. Thanks for your kind comment on my poem “Message From God”, it’s highly appreciated.
I voted for Obama and I think he is the man to get us out of this quagmire George Bush dragged us into. Obama can’t do any worse and I have high hopes he will find the answer. Now is the time to get behind our president and give him our support.
The soldiers of this country have shed their BLOOD for freedom, they bought it and nobody should be allowed to rob it out from under us, “scoundrel in chief” or not, sorry if I sound angry but when people tell me to “get behind the president and support him” when he is undermining American values and liberties, I get more than a little ticked
Great piece, Obama not only is taking our great nation in the wrong direction, walking on our great constitution but maybe the biggest fraud in US history.
On Ebay Barack Hussein Obama II was born in The Coast Provincial Hospital at Mombasa in Kenya at 7:24 p.m. on August 4, 1961. Certificate of birth item #160345002984 Ebay. How the media ignores this fraud I have no idea. To busy bashing Bush I guess like alot of people sold out on hate Bush but forget the foriegn invader squatting in the white house. I dissagreed with alot of things Bush did and had problems with that but \”the change\” we got is much more troubling. I have personally supported Alan Keyes and hope that someday a great American like him will lead our country back to the way it was intended. By the way Alan Keyes happens to be a black man so those of you that claim that I am a racist are idiots. I am a anti-Marxist because I love freedom.
I wish I could add something, but you said it so well. Agree 100%
