The item is about raising awareness why there is world hunger, our right to food and solutions.

What does it mean to be healthy? Is it simply a matter of not being sick, or is it something more? How many households could eat well-balanced meals? What do we need to have enough food? Does the world just need money, a lot of money to have the right to food?

It is good news that the teens today are increasingly aware of the importance of good nutrition.  The bad news is that this knowledge does not always translate into action due to the society’s lack of necessary address to the underlying agricultural crisis which gradually became very difficult to overcome, thus, the support to this awareness have been disregarded.

A healthy diet is a basic human right.  Indeed, it is a BIG question why the world today is in severe hunger when we know that from the beginning of times it is vividly clear how rich the world is with sources of food. A verse from the Bible is a living testimony to this, and God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed, it shall be food to you.” (Gen. 1:29)

Knowing that the rapid soaring of world prices for all the basic food crops including oil and petroleum, the wars and droughts, are all scourges which create devastating effect to humanity. What actions must we do?

Let us go back to basic.  The world can work together with United Nations in its special mechanisms towards recognizing every basic human right. We can encourage every country to utilize community effort and promote fruit and vegetable planting in gardens and households.  This way we can help our local farmers supply food to the entire country, while enhancing agricultural production and saving bulk of food for trade and export.  This is also the best source of proper and adequate nutrition for men and women, children and the elderly of every society.  There is food for everyone.
