I don’t know about you but I am sick of the ordinary news. It seems it is always the same, with little change day after day after day. Obama signing the stimulus package, shooting in your down town neighborhood, teenager dies after leaving a party and no one seems to know why.
I decided this morning that I needed a break from all of this kind of news and decided to do a seach on odd and strange news in the world today. I stumbled across some really strange articles and thought of sharing them with you.
First off is A Hindi Organization that is planning on making a soft drink from cow’s urine. In India with Hindus the cow is sacred and many people drink the urine from the cow when they get the chance. I guess with this new soft drink they wont have to wait for the cow to urinate, all they will have to do is go to the corner market for their daily thirst quencher.
Next on my list of the weird comes another one from India. A boy was married to his neighbors dog to ward off animal attacks to the boy so he will not be killed. Wow marriage to a dog? How is that possible? And some think same sex marriages are bad?
Ok, this one is really strange, a man in Ohio held a woman for three days in hand cuffs and adult diapers and read the Bible to her. This may be a new way to preach religion to folks that do not want to convert. Craziness!
Pennsylvania woman goes on trial for selling Gothic kittens. This pet groomer is being sited for animal cruelty with her kitty’s ear, neck and tail piercings. This woman is insane! Who in their right mind would do that to any animal?
OK, enough of the weird and unusual news, but If nothing else these strange stories gave me a chuckle and maybe a what the heck. I really did not realize how strange some people are out there. The world is made up of all kinds as we all know and I guess the morning news isn’t so bad after all.

I am not surprised to read or hear anything anymore. This world is made up of just as many idiots and stupids as so-called normal people. I am aware of the cow urine issue you speak of. Okay, here’s one. Did you know that some countries break open the heads of live monkeys and eat their brains?
I’d heard about the ‘gothic kittens’ story alright; it’s horrific, she was torturing little cats to make money, and piercing their ears with jewellery that was so heavy it made their ears flop down. Horrible!
I agree with Wess. Although I knew about the woman and diaper one and the monkey one too. It was a nice change of pace, though. Enjoyed the article, Linda.

im so sick about news, thats why i dont bother myself watching news or current affairs, even listening to radio.. and reading newspaper… but this one is great article…
Drinking cow urine??? OMG I don’t care how holy the being is I wouldn’t do it. That is just gross. Great change from the depressing and scary stuff on the news though!
Awesome article!! though some of the stuff have been common in India but reading them in the way you expressed was fantastic. These strange things happen in every nation, some get highlighted while others remain hidden. No doubt, a well written article WITH THE RIGHT PINCH OF SATIRE.

I’ve heard of the monkey brain-eating…so cruel! And the poor Kitties!! I think we should bring back the public stocks such as how people were punished in the olden days!

It’s a change to hear of these strange happenings. So many terrible things in the news and I know of nothing I can do about it.Sometimes I just want to stop up my ears.It’s good to hear something different.
There are interesting news out there. I remember one time for school we had to do a presentation about an unusual news story we saw. It was a lot of fun going through the newspaper looking for interesting news.

aside from cow’s urine, there are some who drinks blood of a snake particularly cobra. it is believed to make them strong and young. eww…
