This is a persuasive paragraph on why the US soldiers should stay in Iraq.
The US soldiers who are currently fighting in Iraq should be kept there until the threat is eliminated for a few reasons. First, if the soldiers are removed from Iraq, the terrorists will most likely attack us again. This would be done because they would want revenge for what had been done to them.
To control the terrorism might cause some more deaths, but overall, if the terrorist did decide to attack it would have more casualties than people saved. Also, if there was a terrorist attack after we pulled out, there would be children who would die also, instead of just men and women. Another reason why the troops in Iraq should stay there until their mission is completed is that if they leave now, the men who have died there would have died for nothing. The men who died were fighting because they had to go to Iraq and try to stop terrorism. If the rest of the soldiers come back to the US before terrorism is stopped they would not have achieved their goal that they originally went there for.
If that happens then there would have been no point in sending the soldiers their in the first place. This action might cause some more men to die, but the people there who have already died there fighting would not have died in vain. Another reason why the soldiers should not be pulled out of Iraq is because the soldiers there are also trying to stop the fighting going on between the Sunni and the Shia. If the soldiers are pulled out of Iraq, then the two parties will most likely cause a bigger civil war, in which a larger amount of Iraqis will die. With the US soldiers still in Iraq though, the fighting can be controlled and minimized to a smaller scale, with less people dying, even though some of our soldiers will be killed.
A final reason why the soldiers should not be pulled out of Iraq is that it will make America look weak to the terrorists and cause a terrorist attack, with revenge on us as another factor for more attacks. After that attack, we would either do two things: retaliate again and send troops into Iraq (again) so there would have been no point in pulling the soldiers out of Iraq which would cost more money. It would also make the soldiers who had just been pulled out of Iraq even more depressed then they had been when they were in Iraq.
This is because they would be just recovering from war, but then they would be sent right back. The other action that America could take from being attacked by terrorists is not retaliate, which would make America look extremely weak and afraid of the terrorist and taking action against them. This action would most likely also cause more terrorist attacks, which would force us to make the decision to invade Iraq again or to continue waiting, which would lead to a repetition of events and reputation if America takes the waiting path, or another invasion of Iraq, as said before.
The soldiers in Iraq should be kept in Iraq until their mission is achieved because if they leave, we would be prone to terrorist attacks because they would want to revenge against us, soldiers who have died there will have died for nothing, the US soldiers are trying to keep the civil war between the Sunni-Shia down, and it would make the US look weak and after we pull out of Iraq, there might be another terrorist attack which would waste money and time if we retaliated against them again. All these factors lead to the case that the soldiers should be kept in Iraq to stop and destroy terrorism.

i thought tht the article did make sense and actually it has opened my mind into viewing the situation in both points of views
I don’t think the author is completly correct. All he keeps doin is stating that there will be even more terrorists attacks over and over again. He also states that ALL the soldiers will be more depressed than they already are, not keeping in mind that depression is a mental illness, though many people are affected, not everyone is. And another thing, just because you stop doesn’t make you weak, it just means that you accepted.
he is coorect and dani you might need to read this again and think about what would happen if we do take the soilders out.
i cant say the “f” word but i agree
who ever wrote this article is moron! Why don’t the terrorists attack us anyway. the women and children of iraq that are murdered everyday aren’t the terrorists. Further more what MISSION is gonna’ be completed? The states already look week. we got bombed Like seven years ago and we still haven’t done anything about it. Iraq has nothing to do with terrorism you idiots!
I agree with every single word of this.
i have to write an essay and this gave me the Inspiration to write the esasy over this!
And Greer there is something we are doing about it look we are in there fighting!
ok VERY GOOD!
I don’t really agree, because this was never our war. O, and to all the people who do agree, how would you feel if you were the soldiers who have been fighting in Iraq?
I agree with Greer, but not so much the bombing states. I would like to live, ya know?
