Comparison to my life and beliefs and Sarah Palin’s.

I live in Mississippi and do not hunt. I’m not what you would call a religious person, although I am very spiritual. I believe that a woman should have the right to say what she should do with her own body – meaning if she becomes pregnant and feels that it would be much better for the baby or her own health, then, she could have an abortion. I do not, however, believe in partial birth abortions.

My husband hunts and we eat what he kills, or we give the meat to a shelter or friend in need of the food. I believe hunting helps correct the balance of nature, and I believe in keeping that balance so that the animals that live in the woods are healthy. Too many deer in an area will run out of food and can become ill.

I, however, do not hunt (but I do love to fish), but can shoot well. My father taught each of his children to respect firearms and how to use them. I will use a firearm to protect myself and my family.

I have begun to consider running for a public office. I have recently not liked the choices I have been presented with in the local elections. I know that for most people in my county, it is difficult to think about running for a position and holding it. Even though that position might only be part-time, it demands after hours meetings and can be a pain because it is hard to please everyone.

I do not have any children of my own because my body would not allow it. I have even had to go through surgery due to my female problems. I would have loved to have had children, having grown up in a large family. My husband has two grown daughters, one of which has her own child. We were married when his children were very young, so I did get to enjoy helping in raising them.

After reviewing my life and my beliefs, I see that I differ from Sarah Palin, but not enough to vote against her. I respect her life and her strength and think she could make a very good Vice President. After all, I’d rather have my Vice President possess less experience that my President!
